AND, A MOBILE STATION PERFORMS A RANGING BY INTERPRETING S-SFH DIFFERENTLY ACCORDING TO A PRESENCE OR NON-PRESENCE OF THE MIXED MODE. THEREFORE, THE PRESENT INVENTION EFFICIENTLY MANAGES THE RANGING OF THE MOBILE STATION AND REDUCES UNNECESSARY SIGNALING OVERHEAD.
