Abstract

THE INVENTION RELATES TO A VERY LARGE SELF-JACKING PLATFORM (1) FOR PROCESSING GAS OR OIL AT SEA, OF THE TYPE COMPRISING A SHELL (10) MOUNTED MOVABLY ON MAIN BEARER LEGS (30) BY MEANS OF DRIVE MECHANISMS (35). THE DISTANCE BETWEEN TWO ADJACENT MAIN LEGS (30) IS GREATER THAN 75 M AND THE SHELL (10) COMPRISES, BETWEEN SAID ADJACENT MAIN LEGS (30), AT LEAST ONE SECONDARY BEARER LEG (40) EQUIPPED WITH DRIVE MECHANISMS (45). THE INVENTION ALSO RELATES TO A METHOD OF ASSEMBLING AND INSTALLING A VERY LARGE SELF-JACKING PLATFORM OF THIS TYPE. (FIG. 1)
