Abstract

The present invention relates to a peptide for inhibiting growth of bacterial pathogens in a biological sample, wherein the peptide comprises an amino acid sequence selected from a group consisting of Pro-His-Trp-Trp-Lys-Trp-Ala-Trp-Trp-His-His-Arg-Arg (SEQ ID NO:1), Lys-His-Trp-Trp-Lys-His-Asp-Trp-Trp-Arg-Trp-Arg-Arg (SEQ ID NO:2), and Ile-Leu-Trp-Trp-Leu-Leu-Ala-Trp-Trp-Arg-Trp-Pro-His (SEQ ID NO:3).
