AN APPARATUS AND A PROCESS UTILIZING SAID APPARATUS FOR TREATMENT, SPECIFICALLY DRYING, OF LIQUID WASTE MATERIALS. THE APPARATUS COMPRISING A CONCENTRATOR (2) AND A CARBONIZER (10) WITH THE LIQUID WASTE MATERIALS FIRST TREATED PARTIALLY IN SAID CONCENTRATOR (2) AND SUBSEQUENTLY TREATED TILL COMPLETION IN SAID CARBONIZER (10). LIQUID WASTE MATERIALS ARE SUBJECTED TO HEAT IN A REDUCED PRESSURE OR VACUUM CONDITION IN THE CONCENTRATOR (2) AND SUBSEQUENTLY THE PARTIALLY TREATED LIQUID WASTE MATERIALS FROM SAID CONCENTRATOR (2) ARE TRANSFERRED TO THE CARBONIZER (10) FOR COMPLETION OF TREATMENT. THE DISCHARGE HEAT ENERGY FROM THE CARBONIZER (10) IS RECYCLED TO THE CONCENTRATOR (2) TO REDUCE ENERGY CONSUMPTION.
