AN ALTERNATOR FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE IS OF THE TYPE WHICH COMPRISES AN END CAP (18) OF PLASTICS MATERIAL, WHICH IS ARRANGED TO ENCLOSE ATTACHED COMPONENTS MOUNTED ON AN END PLATE (10) OF THE ALTERNATOR.THE END CAP IS FORMED WITH HOUSINGS (24, 26) WHICH RECEIVE TERMINALS (20, 22) OF THE ALTERNATOR FOR CONNECTING THE LATTER TO THE ELECTRIC CIRCUIT OF THE VEHICLE. AT LEAST ONE OF THESE HOUSINGS (24, 26) IS PROVIDED WITH A PROTECTIVE SLEEVE (50, 52) WHICH IS REMOVABLE, BUT WHICH IS MADE INTEGRALLY BY MOULDING WITH THE END CAP (18) ITSELF.@@(FIG. 2)
