Abstract
IN A PROCESS FOR SEPARATION BY PERMEATION, A GASEOUS MIXTURE IS SEPARATED IN TWO MEMBRANE SYSTEMS (3A, 5A) OF WHICH ONLY THE FIRST (3A) IS RESISTANT TO AN IMPURITY CONTAINED IN THE MIXTURE. THIS FIRST MEMBRANE SYSTEM IS SWEPT BY A FLUID HAVING A VERY LOW PARTIAL PRESSURE FOR THE IMPURITY, WHICH INDUCES PERMEATION OF THE IMPURITY. THE NON-PERMEATE GAS OF THE FIRST SYSTEM IS THEN SENT TO THE SECOND SYSTEM (5A). (FIG. 2)
