A NEW PHYSICAL FORM OF ARTEMISININ HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS TRICLINIC CRYSTAL. THIS CRYSTAL FORM OF ARTEMISININ HAS GREATER AQUEOUS SOLUBILITY, HIGHER DISSOLUTION RATE AND IMPROVED BIOAVAILABILITY. THE TRICLINIC CRYSTALS CAN BE USED IN THE PREPARATION OF AN ORAL PHARMACEUTICAL SOLID DOSAGE FORM FOR USE AS ANTIMALARIAL DRUG.
