Abstract

A ROTARY SWITCH (A) IS PROVIDED WHICH HAS A STRUCTURE SUCH THAT INTERMEDIATE CAMS (5) ARE SEQUENTIALLY MOVED OVER PROJECTIONS (8) OF A ROTOR (6) WHEN THE ROTOR (6) IS ROTATED. SIMULTANEOUSLY, THE INTERMEDIATE CAMS (5) ARE MOVED DOWNWARDS IN THE VERTICAL DIRECTION SO THAT CONTACT (4) SPRING MEMBERS (4A) ARE INVERSELY WARPED IN THE DOWNWARD DIRECTION SO THAT MOVABLE CONTACTS OF THE CONTACT SPRING MEMBERS ARE BROUGHT INTO CONTACT WITH FIXED CONTACTS (3) (SWITCHED ON). SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH THE DOWNWARD MOVEMENT OF THE INTERMEDIATE CAMS (5) TO BE SEPARATED FROM THE PROJECTIONS (8), THE INTERMEDIATE CAMS (5) ARE MOVED UPWARDS IN THE VERTICAL DIRECTION SO THAT THE CONTACT SPRING MEMBERS (4A) ARE RESTORED AND MOVED UPWARDS SO THAT THE MOVABLE CONTACTS (4) ARE SEPARATED (SWITCHED OFF), THE ROTARY SWITCH (A) COMPRISING A BASE (1) HAVING A PLURALITY OF FIXED CONTACTS (3), WHEREIN A PLURALITY OF CONTACT SPRING MEMBERS (4A) EACH HAVING A MOVABLE CONTACT (4) AT THE LEADING END THEREOF, A PLURALITY OF INTERMEDIATE CAMS (5) EACH HAVING A ROLLER SHAPE OR THE LIKE AND A DISC SHAPE ROTOR (6) HAVING A PLURALITY OF CIRCULAR-ARC PROJECTION (8) ON THE LOWER SURFACE THEREOF ARE SEQUENTIALLY DISPOSED ABOVE SAID FIXED CONTACTS (3) , ROTATIONS OF SAID ROTOR (6) CAUSE SAID INTERMEDIATE CAMS (5) TO BE SEQUENTIALLY MOVED OVER SAID PROJECTIONS (8) ON THE LOWER SURFACE OF SAID ROTOR (6) AND SIMULTANEOUSLY MOVED DOWNWARDS IN THE VERTICAL DIRECTION TO DOWNWARDS AND INVERSELY WARP SAID CONTACT SPRING MEMBERS SO THAT SAID MOVABLE CONTACTS (4) OF SAID CONTACT SPRING MEMBERS ARE BROUGHT INTO CONTACT WITH SAID FIXED CONTACTS (3) AND SAID ROTARY SWITCH (A) IS SWITCHED ON, AND SAID INTERMEDIATE CAMS (5) ARE MOVED UPWARDS IN THE VERTICAL DIRECTION SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH DOWNWARD SEPARATION OF SAID INTERMEDIATE CAMS (5) FROM SAID PROJECTIONS (8) SO THAT SAID CONTACT SPRING MEMBERS (4A) ARE RESTORED AND MOVED UPWARDS AND SAID MOVABLE CONTACTS (4) ARE SEPARATED FROM SAID FIXED CONTACTS SO AS TO SWITCH SAID ROTARY SWITCH (A) OFF. THE ROTATIONS OF THE ROTOR (6) ARE CONVERTED INTO THE ROTATIONS OR SLIDING OF THE INTERMEDIATE CAMS (5). SINCE THE INTERMEDIATE CAMS CAUSE ONLY THE DOWNWARD PRESSURE TO BE TRANSMITTED TO THE CONTACT SPRING MEMBERS (4A) , THE ROTATIONAL FORCE OF THE ROTOR DOES NOT AFFECT THE CONTACT AND SEPARATION OPERATIONS (SWITCHING ON OR SWITCHING OFF OPERATION) OF THE TWO CONTACTS( 3, 4) . THEREFORE, THE TWO CONTACTS SIMPLY PERFORM CONTACT AND SEPARATION OPERATIONS BY THE VERTICAL MOVEMENTS, SIMILARLY TO A DEPRESSION TYPE SWITCH HAVING THE CONTACTS DISPOSED VERTICALLY TO FACE EACH OTHER. AS A RESULT, THE NECESSITY OF APPLYING GREASE BETWEEN THE TWO CONTACTS ( 3, 4)CAN BE ELIMINATED. SINCE INTERMEDIATE CAMS ARE BORNE BY THE BEARINGS OR THE LIKE IN ORDER TO CAUSE THE INTERMEDIATE CAMS TO VERTICALLY MOVE AT PREDETERMINED POSITIONS ON THE CONTACT SPRING MEMBERS, THE INTERMEDIATE CAMS ARE ABLE TO ALWAYS ACCURATELY MOVE IN THE VERTICAL DIRECTION REGARDLESS OF THE DIRECTION IN WHICH THE ROTOR IS ROTATED, THAT IS REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE ROTOR IS ROTATED TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT. THUS, THE MOVABLE CONTACTS AND THE FIXED CONTACTS CAN ALWAYS BE BROUGHT INTO CONTACT WITH EACH OTHER AND SEPARATED FROM EACH OTHER (THAT IS, SWITCHED ON AN OFF).(FIG. 1)
