THERE IS PROVIDED A VARIABLE RESISTOR FOR HIGH VOLTAGE FOR WHICH THE HANDLING OF CONNECTION TERMINALS IS MADE EASIER BY ELIMINATING THE ENTANGLING OF CONNECTION TERMINALS WITH EACH OTHER AND IN WHICH STABLE AND RELIABLE CONTACT AND CONDUCTION IS ACHIEVED BETWEEN A CONNECTION TERMINAL AND AN ELECTRODE. A CONNECTION TERMINAL (7) HAS A SPRING PORTION (7B) BENT IN THE FORM OF A CURVE, AND AN ELECTRODE CONTACT PORTION (7D) WIDER THAN THE SPRING PORTION (7B) IS PROVIDED ON THE END OF THE SPRING PORTION (7B). THE CONNECTION TERMINAL (7) IS CONTAINED AND SECURED IN A CONNECTION TERMINAL CONTAINING PORTION IN A CASE WITH THE ELECTRODE CONTACT PORTION (7D) PRESSED INTO CONTACT WITH AN ELECTRODE FORMED ON A SUBSTRATE.(FIGURE 1)
