A TENSIONED RISER DEEPWATER PLATFORM SUITABLE FOR OFFSHORE OIL AND GAS APPLICATIONS IS DISCLOSED HAVING A FOUNDATION (16) SECURED TO THE OCEAN FLOOR (22), A TOPSIDE FACILITY (30) ABOVE THE OCEAN SURFACE (26), AND A VERTICALLY EXTENDING TOWER JACKET SECURED TO THE FOUNDATION (16) AND SUPPORTING THE TOPSIDE FACILITY (30). A PLURALITY OF SUBSTANTIALLY VERTICALLY EXTENDING RISERS (44) PROVIDE FLUID COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE WELLS AND THE TOPSIDE FACILITY (30).THESE RISERS (44) ARE CONNECTED TO RISER SUPPORTS NEAR THEIR UPPER ENDS THE RISER SUPPORTS PROVIDE THE PRINCIPAL LOAD TRANSFER BETWEEN THE RISERS (44) AND THE TOWER JACKET.THUS, THE CONDUCTOR GUIDES AND ATTENDANT HORIZONTAL BRACING OF CONVENTIONAL DEEPWATER DESIGN CAN BE SUBSTANTIALLY ELIMINATED.
