APPARATUS FOR USE IN UNLOADING PARTICULATE SOLIDS FROM A VESSEL VIA A PORT (1) ACCESSING THE VESSEL INCLUDES CLOSURE SHELLS (3, 4) ARRANGED TO ENGAGE ONE ANOTHER DEFINE AN ENCLOSED ZONE ADJACENT THE PORT (1). EACH CLOSURE SHELL (3, 4) HAS A RESPECTIVE COLLAR (10, 26) ARRANGED TO ENGAGE WITH THE PORT (1); THE CLOSURES SHELLS (3, 4) ARE CLAMPED IN THE ENGAGED POSITION AND ARE RELEASABLE TO PERMIT DISENGAGEMENT AND SEPARATION OF THE RESPECTIVE CLOSURE ELEMENTS (3, 4). ONE OF THE CLOSURE SHELLS (3) IS TYPICALLY SUPPORTED AND ARRANGED TO BE RAISED INTO ENGAGEMENT WITH THE VESSEL PORT (1).
