AN LIGHTING APPARATUS THAT PERFORMS THE ILLUMINATION OF THE INTERIOR OF AN ELEVATOR CAGE (10) COMPRISES A TRANSPARENT PANEL (34, 54, 64) OF A MATERIAL HAVING THE NATURE WHEREBY LIGHT IRRADIATED IS FAVORABLY TRANSMITTED, BEING FORMED IN A PLATE SHAPE AND HAVING A PREDERTERMINED THICKNESS, AND PROVIDED ALONG A CEILING (20) IN THE VICINITY OF A CEILING (20) OF THE CAGE (10), A REFLECTIVE FILM (33, 63) ADHERED TO A FRONT SURFACE OF AN UPPER SIDE OF THE PANEL, THE ADHERED SURFACE BEING THE REFLECTIVE SURFACE (33, 63) SO THAT ALL LIGHT FROM DIRECTIONS OTHER THAN THE UPPER SIDE FRONT SURFACE IS REFLECTED, AND A LIGHT SOURCE (32, 62) TO SUPPLY A PREDERTERMINED AMOUNT OF LIGHT TO A SIDE END SURFACE OF THE PANEL TO ILLUMINATE THE CAGE (10) BY REFLECTING LIGHT PASSING THROUGH THE PANEL BY THE REFLECTIVE SURFACE OF THE REFLECTIVE FILM (33, 63).
