THE PRESENT INVENTION DISCLOSES A DUAL FLUSH CISTERN MECHANISM FOR AN INTERNAL CISTERN (4). THE CISTERN (4) IS MOUNTED BETWEEN THE FRONT (5) AND REAR (6) LAYERS OF A FRAME WALL (3). THE CISTERN (4) IS ALSO LOCATED BETWEEN A PAIR OF ADJACENT SMDS (10) OF THE FRAME WALL (3). THE MECHANISM INCLUDES PIVOTED FLUSH ACTTJATING LEVERS (38) AND A PIVOTALLY MOUNTED LATCH ARM (25) ALL OF WHICH PIVOT IN SUBSTANTIALLY VERTICAL PLANES WHICH ARE SUBSTANTIALLY PARALLEL TO THE FRONT (5) AND REAR (6) LAYERS OF THE FRAME WALL (3).(FIGURE 1)
