IN THE EVENT OF A FAILURE IN THE MECHANISM FOR VERTICALLY AND RECIPROCATINGLY DRIVING THE CONTROL ROD, E.G A LEVER, LINK OR THE LIKE THE CONTROL ROD MOVES DOWNWARD BY THE FORCE OF GRAVITY TO AUTOMATICALLY STOP THE FUEL SUPPLY TO THE UNIT INJECTORS.(FIG. 2)
