Abstract
THE INVENTION RELATES TO A PROCESS FOR DRY FRACTIONATION OF FATTY SUBSTANCES COMPRISING THE STEPS OFF: (A) HEATING THE FATTY SUBSTANCE TO A TEMPERATURE AT WHICH IT IS IN A SUBSTANTIALLY WHOLLY LIQUID OR DISSOLVED STATE; (B) RAPIDLY COOLING THE FATTY SUBSTANCE FROM SAID SUBSTANTIALLY WHOLLY LIQUID OR DISSOLVED STATE TO A SUPER- COOLED STATE WHICH IN EQUILIBRIUM WOULD RESULT IN AT LEAST 8BY WEIGHT OF THE FATTY SUBSTANCE BEING CRYSTALLIZED, SAID RAPID COOLING BEING EFFECTED UNDER CONDITIONS OF LOW AGITATION AND SUBSTANTIALLY WITHOUT FORMATION OF CRYSTALS; (C) SUBSEQUENTLY CONTROLLING THE TEMPERATURE OF THE FATTY SUBSTANCE TO SUCH A LEVEL AND FOR SUCH A PERIOD THAT AT LEAST 8BY WEIGHT OF THE FATTY SUBSTANCE HAS CRYSTALLIZED; AND (D) SEPARATING THE RESULTING LIQUID AND SOLID FRACTIONS OF THE FATTY SUBSTANCE.
Process for the separation of technically pure 2,4-diisocyanotoluene, or of mixtures of isomers having an increased content of 2,4-diisocyanotoluene, from mixtures essentially consisting of 2,4- and 2,6-diisocyanotoluene
