Abstract
Description
CAP SCREW
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The present invention generally relates to threaded connectors for connecting two parts to one another. Threaded connectors of this type are known in the art. Some known threaded connectors are formed as threaded bolts with or without a head, and with or without a nut. One of the threaded connectors is described, for example, in my patent of E. U.A. 5, 318, 397, as well as my other patents. The bolts or threaded connectors can be further improved. COMPONENT OF THE I NVENTION Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a new bolt which is further improved from the existing bolts. In order to maintain these objectives and others which will be apparent below, one aspect of the present invention resides, in short, in a bolt having an axis and which is used to connect two parts therebetween, which has a threaded portion on its ends. ends and that has a polygonal circumference, a friction washer that can be connected to the polygonal circumference and is adapted to rest with a first facial area on a facial area of one of the parts that will be connected, and a sleeve that can be connected to a thread of the threaded portion and abutting one of its facial areas against a second facial area of the friction washer, such that when a force is applied in one direction to the bolt and a force is applied in an opposite direction ai cuff, only the cuff rotates while the bolt lengthens or relaxes. When the pin is designed, according to the present invention, this has a simple construction and can be lengthened and relaxed as necessary. The novel aspects, which are considered as characteristic for the present invention, are exhibited in particular in the appended claims. However, the invention by itself, both by its construction and by its method of operation, together with the additional objectives and advantages thereof, will be better understood from the following description of the specific modalities when read in relation to the attached drawings. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The only Figure of the drawing is a view showing a bolt for connecting two parts between them according to the present invention. DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED MODALITIES A bolt, according to the present invention, has a bolt member which is identified as an assembly with reference number 1 and having an axis. The bolt member 1 has a threaded portion 2 located substantially at one end of the bolt member and provided with a thread. The bolt member 1 also has another portion which is identified with the reference number 3 and has a polygonal circumference. The bolt portion of the polygonal circumference 3 is axially spaced from the portion of the threaded bolt 2. Finally, the bolt member 1 has an arrow portion 4, which can be provided with a head not shown on an opposite side. The polygonal circumference of the bolt portion 4 can be formed by a plurality of grooves which extend in the axial direction of the bolt member and are spaced apart from one another in a peripheral direction of the bolt member 1. The bolt also has a friction washer which is identified as a set with reference number 5. The friction washer has a first facial area 6, which abuts against the facial area 7 of one of the parts that will be connected with the other. The parts that will be connected to each other are identified by the reference numbers 8 and 9. The friction washer 5 can be connected to the polygonal circumference of the bolt portion 3. In particular, the friction washer 5 has an inner surface having a shape corresponding to the shape of the external surface of the bolt portion 3. In the embodiment shown, the internal surface of the friction washer 5, is provided with a plurality of grooves which correspond to the grooves of the bolt portion 3 and engage with these grooves. Therefore, the bolt member 1 can not rotate in relation to the friction washer 5, but can be displaced in an axial direction relative to the friction washer 5. The bolt, furthermore, has a sleeve which is identified with the reference number 9. The sleeve 9 has a facial area 10 which abuts against an opposite facial area 1 1 of the friction washer 5. The sleeve 9 connects with the thread of the threaded portion 2 of the bolt member 1. In particular, the sleeve 9 is provided with an internal thread which corresponds to the external thread of the threaded portion 2 of the bolt member, so that it engages the external thread of the bolt portion 2. The bolt in accordance with the present invention operates in the following manner: When a given force is applied in a direction towards the bolt member 1 and a given force is applied in a direction opposite to the sleeve 9, only the sleeve 9 rotates while the bolt member 1 is lengthens or relaxes. The reason is that, on the one hand, the bolt member can not rotate since it is fixed non-rotatably by its polygonal circumference portion 3 on the friction washer 5, and on the other hand, the bolt member 1 can not to move axially because its external thread engages with the internal thread of the sleeve 9. Only the elongation or relaxation of the bolt member 1 is carried out. On the other hand, it is also possible that the opposing force is an active force intended to rotate the sleeve 9 in a circumferential direction which is opposite to the circumferential direction of rotation of the bolt member 1. It will be understood that each of the elements described previously, or two or more together, they may also find a useful application in other types of constructions that differ from the types described above. While the invention has been illustrated and described as being modalized in the bolt, it is not intended to limit the details shown, since various modifications and structural changes may be made without departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention. Without further analysis, the foregoing will only fully disclose the advantages of the present invention that others can easily adapt, applying current knowledge, to various applications without omitting aspects which, from the point of view of the prior art, clearly constitute the essential characteristics of the generic or specific aspects of this invention. What is claimed as new and is desired to be protected by patent laws is set forth in the appended claims.
