Abstract
The present invention relates to a contact connector system intended for the light waveguides of the international-standard SC connector, wherein said system has each connection end formed by a portion of the connector. This system comprises a connector housing (7) for receiving at least two connector portions (6) and for ensuring the manual handling during the connection process. The connector housing co-operates by shape connection and through coupling members (8) with predetermined connection openings in a RJ45 or RJ11 electric connection system or the like. Thanks to this system, the connection ends of the light waveguides which are formed by a portion of the connector can be used directly in modular connection systems such as RJ45 or RJ11 systems.
Description
OPENING CONNECTOR CONNECTION FOR OPTICAL WAVE GUIDES The present invention relates to a contact connector arrangement for optical waveguides of the internationally standardized SC-type connector whose connection ends of each are formed by a male connector. The highly sensitive connector ends of the optical waveguides are manufactured and ready for a plug and plug connection in order to allow their handling. For this purpose the ends of the optical waveguides through elements of an anti-kink in a bending sleeve and an end splint are fixed through a male connector. The problematic aspect in this respect is, however, that these male connectors can not be used without any additional measure for the most common modular electrical connectors such as RJ 45 or RJ 11, because the cross section of the male connectors does not It matches the plug openings of the electrical connector systems. It is therefore the object of the invention to provide an arrangement for contact connector for optical waveguides of the internationally standardized SC connector with connector ends which are formed by a male connector and which have transverse dimensions of systems. of modular electrical connector such as RJ 45 or RJ 11. This is achieved in the first place according to the invention through a connector box that receives at least two male connectors and is used for the manual handling of the plugging process , whose housing cooperates in a positive locking manner through coupling elements with predetermined plug-in openings in an electrical connector system RJ 45 or RJ 11 or the like. As a result of these measures, it is now possible to directly use the connection ends of the optical waveguides which are manufactured with male connectors for modular electrical connector systems such as RJ 45 or RJ 11, with in-line arrangements for the elements of coupling according to the invention which also provides a compact design. A preferred embodiment of the arrangement of the contact connector according to the invention can be additionally dressed in that the coupling element is comprised of two substantially similar parts of chats which are connected through flange elements or the like and which they enclose elements used to establish contact such as insurance elements and plugs and plugs, in addition if the parts of the box are arranged in a positive locking manner with respect to the predetermined plug openings, in addition if the part of the box is used for the detachable insert of the connector housing with the male connectors at the ends of the optical waveguides, and if in addition the guide grooves are arranged on the parts of the box and the cam counter-flanges in the connector housing and if the The connector housing cooperates with the respective housing part through fastener elements. The exemplified embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are explained below with reference to the accompanying drawings, in this document: Figure 1 shows an arrangement for optical waveguides in a diagram representation and Figure 2 shows the arrangement according to Figure 1 in an exploded view on a smaller scale. The contact connector arrangement is provided here for two optical waveguides 1 and 2 of the internationally standardized SC connector whose connection ends terminate at each of the ends through anti-kinking elements 3 in a bending sleeve 4 and an end ferrule 5 which is fixed through a male connector 6. According to the invention, a connector box 7 is provided which receives at least and in this case two male connectors 6, is used for the handling manual of the plug-in process and cooperates in a positively locking manner through coupling means 8 with predetermined internationally standardized plug openings (not shown) of an electrical connector system such as RJ 45 or RJ 11. The coupling element comprises two parts of essentially similar box 9, 9"which are connected through flange elements 10 or up to detent elements and the like 'which fix the elements used for contacting such as the safety elements 11 and the plug and plug elements 12. The parts of the box 9, 9 'are arranged in a positive locking manner with the aforementioned plug openings In addition, this box part 9, 9' is used for the detachable insertion of the connector housing 7 with male connectors 6 at the ends of the connector. the optical waveguides 1 and 2. For this purpose the slots of the guide 13 can be provided in the parts of the housing 9, 9 'and cam counter-flanges 14 in the connector housing 7.
In addition, the connector housing 7 can also cooperate with the respective housing part 9, 9 'through fastener elements 15. These measures ensure that the connecting ends of the optical waveguides that are manufactured ready for the male connectors they can be used directly for modular electrical connector systems such as RJ 45 or RJ 11, with the in-line arrangement of coupling elements according to the invention and also provides a compact design. The protection is claimed as follows:
