Abstract

A tray for a razor that includes a base member and a platform member. The base member includes engagement structure for releasably holding the razor and platform support structure. The platform member is supported on the platform support structure, is secured to said base member, and is located behind at least part of a razor when the razor is held by the engagement structure.

Description

"TRAY FOR WET SHAVING MACHINE" DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The invention relates to a tray for a wet razor. It is known to provide a tray for holding a wet affixing machine while it is not being used and for presenting it in a desired manner from the point of view of the package for sale. Such trays include a base member that links a razor handle to which a replaceable cartridge is connected. The base member frequently also includes a spare cartridge dispenser on the opposite side of the base member for the razor. Summary of the Invention In one of its aspects, the invention presents, in general, a tray for a razor that includes a base member and a platform member. The base member includes a protruding-retaining structure for detachably retaining the razor and platform support structure. The platform member is supported on the platform support structure, is fixed to the base member and is located behind at least part of a razor when it is held by the protruding retaining structure. Some implementations of the invention may include one or more of the following characteristics. In some implementations, the platform member is behind the handle of the razor or the cartridge thereof or both. The base member has an opening through which the same, near the cartridge and the platform member is trans- REF .: 30978 on the other side to allow the bottom side of the cartridge to be seen from the other side of the base member. The platform member is re-reflective in a portion aligned with a handle of the razor, to reflect the underside of the handle. The part of the platform member-close to the cartridge can be reflective from the top and transparent from the bottom side and over most of the surface. As an alternative, the edge of the part of the platform member may be reflective from the top, while the central part may be transparent. In a certain implementation, the platform member can have an outline that corresponds to that of the handle of the razor that is held on the platform. The platform member is SJJ subject to the base member by pressure linking. The base member has a lip surrounding the opening through the base member, the lip supporting an edge portion of the transparent part of the platform member. The base member has recesses that receive tabs from the platform member. The end portions of the platform member are retained under overlapping portions of the base member and a portion of the middle of the platform member is supported by portions of the base member, below the platform member. The middle part of the platform member is linked by pressure bonding with a protruding structure projecting and extending upwards through an opening of the platform by means of small protuberances of the front of the structure which is projected and cantilevered portions of the structure that is -projected in the back. The platform member has a drainage hole under the cartridge. The tray has an appropriate structure to include a spare cartridge dispenser. In another of its aspects, the invention is characterized, in general, by the combination of a razor and a tray, as already described. In another aspect, the invention generally presents a tray for a wet razor including a base, a holding structure held in the base for retaining a razor in a detachable manner and a platform supported by the base, located behind at least a part of the area occupied by a razor when it is supported by the holding structure and has a reflective surface that is concave, in order to increase the degree of reflection of the razor thanks to the reflective surface. The implementations of the invention may have one or several of the following advantages. The fact of having a platform member separated from the base member and secured thereto allows greater-flexibility to use different materials, have different aspects and different forms of manufacture for the base member and the platform member. By making transparent a part of the platform member that is found - aligned with a hole that crosses the base member, it allows to show the bottom side of the cartridge and that the buyer can see it before buying it. By making a part of the platform member reflective behind the handle, it allows the purchaser to reflexively visualize the underside of the handle before purchasing the razor. The reflective portion additionally provides a visual integration of the handle and the tray. The preserves of the snap-in structure and the corresponding tabs, the surfaces of the base member superimposed on the ends of the platform member and the small protuberances of the front and the cantilevered rear portion of the protruding retaining structure and the supporting surfaces below the middle of the platform member all contribute to make the assembly. Other advantages and aspects of this invention will become apparent from the following description of a preferred embodiment thereof and from the appended claims. Figure 8 is an enlarged front plan view showing the cradle of the handle within the projecting protruding structure - projecting from the base member . Description of the Preferred Embodiments. With reference to Figures 1 to 5, tray 10 is shown which contains the wet razor 12. The razor 12 has an elongated handle 14 and a replaceable cartridge 16 at its end. The bap leaves 10 includes an opaque base member 18 and a reflective / transparent platform member 20 (Fig. 2) attached to the base member 18 behind the razor 12. In Fig. 1, the platform member 20 it is shown attached to the base member 18 and in Fig. 2 it is shown separated from the base member 18. The platform member 20 is fastened to the base member 18 by pressure bonding. The base member 18 is made of medium impact polystyrene (MIPS) or high impact polystyrene (HIPS). The silver shape member 20 is made of an optically transparent plastic material, which can be metallized (eg polycarbonate). The platform member 20 is thermoformed or injection molded to obtain the desired shape and is made reflective by metallization in a reflective portion 22 which is located under the handle 14. The transparent portion 24 of the tray 10 under the cartridge 16 is transparent from at least the bottom part of the tray 10, to allow viewing the underside of the cartridge 16 from the back side of the tray 10 through the hole 38 (Figs. 2,3) of the base member 18. The razor 12 is supported on the base member 18, on the platform member 20 and within the protruding structure-which projects 28 by means of opposed elastic projections 26 (Fig. . 5). The elastic projections 26 support the handle 14 near the end of the cartridge of said handle 14. The bottom part of the handle 14 is retained in the opening 31 (Fig. 3-5) of the cap 30 that is at one end-of the member of base 18. The transparent portion 24 of the silver member -form 20 is concave and has an elongated drain opening 32 (Figs. 1-2) to allow water dripping from the cartridge 16 to run off after use. With reference to Figs. 2 and 3, it is noted that the platform member 20 is supported by the surface 34 that is below the reflective portion 22 and is also supported around the hole 38 by the lip 36 (Figs 2-4) and below the portions. of edge of the transparent part 24 along the sides and end of the base member 18. The platform member 20 has a location tab 40 (which is not metallized) and optional retention tabs 42 at the bottom end Of the same. The platform member 20 also has an aperture of generally circular shape 44, through which the protruding structure 28 and the elastic projections 26 project. With reference to FIGS. 6 and 7, the middle portion of the platform member 20 surrounding the opening 44 is joined by pressure bonding with the projecting protruding structure 28 by means of two small protuberances 61 on the front of the projecting projected structure. 28 and, at the rear, the cantilevered portion 62 of the projecting structure 28. With reference to Fig. 3, the surface 34 has two optional external zones, aligned with similar and adjacent optional upward openings 48 (Fig. 4) of the cap 30, to receive respective retention tabs 42 of the platform member 20 (Fig. 2) if optional retention tabs 42 are used. The surface 34 also has a slightly recessed area 50 leading to the opening 31 , in which the tongue 40 of the platform member 20 is inserted (Fig.2). With reference to Fig. 4, the base member 18 also includes an area 52 below the surface 34, for receiving the dispenser 53 (shown in dotted line in Fig. 4), which contains a plurality. of cartridges 16. The dispenser is retained in the zone 52 by means of the projections 54 of the rear wall 56 of the base member and the projections 58 of the wall extending downwards 60. The front edge of the portion 24 of the platform member 20 (Fig. 2) is retained under the downwardly directed surface 64. In order to prepare the products for sale, the platform member 20 is attached to the base member 18 by inserting the tabs 40, 42, in FIG. respective openings 31 and zones 46 and openings 48, shoring the protruding projecting structure 28 through the opening 44 and pushing the leading edge of the platform member 20 below the surface 64 - (Fig. 4) to press fit, the front of platform member 20 in place and joining it to the base member 18. Then, the razor 12 is placed on the tray 10 by inserting the bottom part of the handle 14 into the opening 31 and moving the other end of the handle 14 downwards, separating the elastic projections 26. until they return under pressure on the upper portion of the handle 14. The upward facing surface 70 of the protruding projecting structure 28 has a curved shape, generally elliptical in shape (Fig. 8), which is complementary to the lower part of the handle 14 resting on it, to receive the handle 14 and help to retain it in an appropriate position. The dispenser 53 (contains replacement cartridges) is then inserted into the underside of the tray 10 and is hooked by the projections 54 58. The combination of the tray 10, the razor 12 and the cartridge dispenser 53 is then attached to the packaging for sale (eg "blister" package) so as to allow the purchaser to observe the upper surface of the tray 10 with the machine shaving 12 on the same and the lower supecia of the transparent part 24 of the platform member 20 through the hole 38. The buyer can see, therefore, the details - of the sheets directed downwards, the protection and the cartridge cap 16 through the transparent portion. The bottom portion of the handle 14 is also visible by reflection of the reflective portion 22. Alternatively, the front portion of the platform member 20 (under the cartridge 16) may be selectively reflective (i.e. reflective from above and transparent from the bottom side) on all its -surface. Another alternative is that the front portion of the platform member 20 (under the cartridge 16) is reflective on an edge portion and transparent on a central portion. The platform member 20 is concave in two dimensions (ie, along a longitudinal axis aligned with the handle 14 and along a perpendicular axis) which allows a wider viewing angle and increases the degree of reflection of the handle 14 and also of the cartridge 16, when at least a portion of the platform member 20 near the cartridge 16 is reflective. The handle 14 has a contour along the same and the platform member 20 has a corresponding contour so that there is a visual integration of the handle 14 - with the tray 10. Claims (35)

CLAIMS Having described the invention as above, the content of the following claims is claimed as property:

1. A tray for a wet razor characterized in that it comprises: a base member including a coupling structure for freely retaining said razor on said base member; said base member includes a platform support structure; and a platform member that is supported in said platform support structure is secured to said base member and is located behind at least a part of the area occupied by said razor when it is retained by said coupling structure where said razor includes a cartridge and a handle wherein said platform member has a cartridge portion located behind the area occupied by said cartridge when said razor is retained by said coupling structure wherein said base member has an opening from one end to the other in the area under said cartridge portion and wherein said cartridge portion of said platform member is transparent from a surface that is opposite a surface in front of said cartridge when said razor is retained on said tray. to allow the view of the side of said cartridge in front of said platform member.

2. The tray according to claim 1, characterized in that said platform member includes a handle portion located behind the area occupied by said handle when said razor is retained by said coupling structure.

3. The tray according to claim 2, characterized in that said platform member has a hole through which said coupling structure projects.

4. The tray according to claim 2, characterized in that said platform member is reflective on said handle portion, by means of which the bottom of said handle will be reflected by said handle portion.

5. The tray according to claim 4, characterized in that said handle portion is concave to increase the reflection range of said handle by said handle portion.

6. The tray according to claim 1, characterized in that said platform member is secured to said base member by the spring adjustment coupling.

7. The tray according to claim 6, characterized in that said base member has cavities for receiving the tabs of said platform member and said platform member has tabs that are received in said cavities in said base member.

8. The tray according to claim 1, characterized in that said support structure includes an edge along said opening that supports an edge portion of said platform member.

9. The tray according to claim 1, characterized in that said platform member has a first and second end portions retained under superposed portions of said base member and is supported by portions of said base member below said platform member between said portions. first and second end portions.

The tray according to claim 1, characterized in that said platform member includes a middle portion with an opening, and said base member includes a projecting column structure that extends upwards by said opening, and wherein said middle portion is the spring-fitting coupling ensures said protruding column structure by protuberances on the front of the projecting column structure which engages the edge portions of said platform member about said opening and by protruding portions on the back of said outgoing column structure.

12. The tray according to claim 1, characterized in that said base member additionally comprises a structure for retaining a dispenser of replaceable cartridges.

13. The tray according to claim 1, characterized in that said cartridge portion is reflective from most of said surface in front of said cartridge and is transparent from most of said surface which is opposite said surface in front of said cartridge.

14. The tray according to claim 1, characterized in that said cartridge portion is reflective from an edge portion of said surface in front of said cartridge and is transparent from the central portion of said surface which is opposite from said surface in front of said cartridge.

15. The tray according to claim 13 or 14, characterized in that said cartridge portion is concave to increase the reflection range of said cartridge by said cartridge portion.

16. The tray according to claim 1, characterized in that said base member and said platform member are separate structures.

17. The combination characterized in that it comprises: a wet razor; a base member including a coupling structure that freely retains said razor in said base member; said base member includes a platform support structure; and a platform member that is supported on said platform support structure that is secured to said base member and located behind at least a portion of said razor when retained by said coupling structure; wherein said base member and said platform member are separate structures.

18. The combination according to claim 17, characterized in that said razor includes an elongated handle having a length and a handle outline along said length and wherein said platform member has a platform contour joining said mango outline.

19. The combination according to claim 17, characterized in that said razor includes a cartridge and a handle and wherein said platform member has a first portion located behind said handle when said razor is retained by said coupling structure.

20. The combination according to claim 17, characterized in that said razor includes a cartridge and a handle and wherein said platform member has a second portion located behind said cartridge when said razor is retained by said coupling structure.

21. The combination according to claim 20, characterized in that said base member has an opening from one end to another in the area under said second portion wherein said second portion of said platform member is transparent from a surface that is opposite from a surface in front of said cartridge when said razor is retained on said tray to allow the view of the side of said cartridge in front of said platform member.

22. The combination according to claim 21, characterized in that said support structure includes an edge along said opening that supports an edge portion of said platform member.

23. The combination according to claim 21, characterized in that said platform member has a concave portion with a drain hole near the area occupied by said cartridge when said razor is retained by said coupling structure.

24. The combination according to claim 17, characterized in that said platform member is secured to said base member by the spring adjustment coupling and wherein said base member has cavities to receive the tabs of said platform member and said member. of platform has tongues received in said cavities in said base member.

The combination characterized in that it comprises: a wet razor; a base member including a coupling structure that freely retains said razor on said base member; said base member includes a platform support structure; and a platform member that is supported on said platform support structure secured to said base member and located behind at least a portion of said razor when retained by said coupling structure; wherein said razor includes a cartridge and a handle and wherein said platform member includes a first portion located behind said handle when said razor is retained by said coupling structure and a second portion located behind said cartridge when said razor is retained by said coupling structure wherein said base has an opening from one end to another in the area under said second portion wherein said second portion of said platform member is transparent from a surface that is opposite from a surface in front of said cartridge when said razor is retained on said tray to allow the view of the side of said cartridge in front of said platform member wherein said platform member is reflective on said first portion.

28. The combination according to claim 27, characterized in that said first portion is concave to increase the reflection range of said handle by said first portion.

29. The combination according to claim 28, characterized in that said second portion is reflective from an edge portion of said surface opposite said cartridge and is transparent from a central portion of said surface that is opposite from said surface opposite said cartridge.

30. The tray according to claim 29, characterized in that said second portion is concave to increase the reflection range of said cartridge by said second portion.

31. The combination according to claim 27, characterized in that said platform member has a hole through which said coupling structure projects.

32. A tray for a wet razor including a cartridge and a handle characterized in that it comprises: a base; a coupling structure carried on said base to freely retain said razor; and a platform that is carried by said base and is located behind at least a part of the area occupied by said razor when it is retained by said coupling structure, said platform has a reflection surface that is concave to increase the reach Reflection of said razor by said reflecting surface wherein said platform has a first concave portion located behind the area occupied by said handle when said razor is retained by said coupling structure.

A tray for a wet razor characterized in that it comprises: a base member including a coupling structure for freely retaining said razor on said base member; said base member includes a platform support structure; and a platform member that is supported on said platform support structure that is secured to said base member and located behind at least a portion of the area occupied by said razor then held by said coupling structure; wherein said base member and said platform member are separate structures.
