Abstract

The present discloses the operation of systems for catalytic conversion of multiple stage hydrocarbons in which hydrocarbons serially flow through at least two reaction zones, being improved, by using a discontinuing derivation from a portion of the change of each one of the zones so that the first zone processes only one feeding portion and the second zone processes the remaining feeding portion and at least one portion of the effluent of the first zone. Where three reactions are needed, the effluent flow procedure of the first reaction zone is divided between the second and third reaction zones so that one portion of the load for each zone will always be directed around the zone and be processes in the following reaction zone. A portion of the effluent flow is combined with the hydrocarbons derived from the first reaction zone and the combined flow passes to the second reaction zone. The other portion of the effluent flow of the first reaction zone and at least a portion of the effl uent flow of the second reaction zone pass to the third reaction zone. The present invention is applicable to processes where the first and second reaction zones are susceptible to be suspended also diminishing the mass flow through the first and second reaction zones and keeping a high-capacity hydrocarbon conversion.
