Description

COMBINATION OF CREMATION AND ADORN CONTAINER FOR LAWN / GARDEN FIELD OF THE INVENTION The invention relates in general to funeral products and, in particular, to cremation containers for the display of cremated human remains contained therein.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Cremation is a section that is growing in the funeral industry. Consequently, there is an increasing demand for more high-quality cremation container designs and styles. A popular design for cremation urns is the animal / outdoor theme. Five of these designs are disclosed in U.S. Patent Nos. 356,421, 370,767, 370,766 and 370,768 and in U.S. Patent Application Serial No. 08 / 733,882, all of which have been assigned to the assignee of the present invention and is referred to herein by reference in their entirety. Other cremation urns with more traditional styles are disclosed, for example, in U.S. Patent Nos. 344,839, 345,848, 356,422 and P110 / 98MX 360,732, all of which were assigned to the assignee of this invention and are hereby incorporated by reference, in their entirety. All the cremation containers described above are adapted to be displayed in the deceased's residence, for example, on the mantelpiece, on a coffee table, on a side table or the like. There is an increasing need to have attractive, though not traditional, progressive or alternative means for the deceased to exhibit the creased remains of the deceased that they wish to commemorate. Accordingly, a principal objective of this invention is to provide an alternative means for mourners to exhibit the cremated remains of a deceased for commemorative purposes, and to be in contrast to the more traditional types of cremation containers currently in use.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In accordance with the stated objective, the present invention is a combination of cremation container and garden / lawn ornament. The combination of cremation container and garden / lawn decoration comprises a decorative water fountain adapted to make P1104 / 98MX circulate water from a source of water, upwards, and to let the water form a cascade down, and a compartment that can be opened and closed and is adapted to contain the cremated remains of the deceased. The source includes, preferably, a water tank, a pump and a pipe. The pipe has a first end connected to the pump and a second end open to the atmosphere and placed above the tank. The pump works to pump water from the tank up through the pipe. The compartment that can be opened and closed comprises a bowl for receiving the cremated remains therein and the bowl can be removably secured to the source. The fountain includes a sink that contains the water tank. A structure extends upwards from the stack. The second end of the pipe is positioned so that the water that emerges from it forms a cascade down the structure that extends upwards. The bowl is removably secured to the bottom side of the stack. The pipe extends upwards along a rear surface, normally hidden from view, which belongs to the structure that extends upwards, and the second end extends through the structure that extends downwards to direct the water that comes from it along a surface P1104 / 98MX front, normally visible, belonging to the structure that extends upwards. The structure that extends upwards includes a region on the normally visible front surface of the same to include a personalized inscription commemorating the deceased. The structure that extends upwards can also include decorative flowers or the like on the front surface normally visible, over which the water forms the waterfall. The main advantage of this invention is that the combination of cremation container and garden / lawn ornament provides the deceased with an alternative and non-traditional, but attractive, way of exhibiting the cremated remains of the deceased. These and other objects and advantages of the present invention will become more readily apparent from the following detailed description, taken in conjunction with the drawings, wherein: BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Figure 1 is a side cross-sectional view of the combination of cremation and adornment container for lawn / garden of the present invention; and Figure 2 is a perspective view of the cremation container and ornament combination for P1104 / 98 X turf / j ard of Figure 1.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Referring first to Figures 1 and 2, there is illustrated a cremation and lawn / garden adornment combination of the present invention, which is generally designated with the number 10. Cremation container combination and lawn / garden trim 10 comprises, in general, a decorative water source 20 adapted to circulate water from a water source, upward and cause the water to form a cascade downwards, and a compartment that can be closed and opened 40, and is adapted to contain the cremated remains of the deceased. The pipe 26 includes a first end 28 connected to the pump 24 and a second end 30 which is subdivided at the ends 32 and 34, which are open to the atmosphere and which are placed above the reservoir 22. The pump 24 functions to pump water from the reservoir 22 upwards, through the pipe 26. The compartment 40 that can be opened and closed comprises a bowl 42 for receiving the cremated remains 44 , where these can be wrapped in a plastic bag 46 or the like. The bowl 42 is removably secured to a P1104 / 98MX font stack portion 36 by a bolt 48 that threadably engages a tapered flange 50 projecting down from a bottom surface 52 of the sink or stack 36. To seal the bowl 42 to the stack 56 is use silicone caulking or the like. The ends 32 and 34 'of the pipe 26 have positions that allow the water exiting from them to form a downward cascade of a structure 60 extending upwardly from the stack 36 of the source 20. In particular, the pipeline 26 extends along a rear surface 62, normally hidden from view, which belongs to the structure 60 that extends upwards. The ends 32 and 34 extend through the upwardly extending structure 60 to direct the water exiting therefrom along a normally visible front surface 64 belonging to the upwardly extending structure 60. . The upwardly extending structure 60 further includes a region 70 on the front surface 64 normally visible therein to include a personalized inscription commemorating the deceased. In addition, the upwardly extending structure 60 may also include on the normally visible front surface, decorative flowers or the like 72 on which it may fall.
P1104 / 98MX cascaded the water. A suitable source 20 from which the present invention is manufactured is obtained from Virginia Metal Crafters, Waynesboro, Virginia as part number 9931 or 6547.
