Description

SYSTEM TO CLOSE ARTÍ CU LOS D ESC RI PCIÓ N OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a system for closing articles, in particular the folding of plastic bags filled in accordance with the preamble of claim 1. The systems according to the preamble for closed bags and the like are known, among others, from the US patent specifications US 3,729, 896 and US 4, 718,220. These manually operated bag closure devices are currently used for particular household purposes. With the device according to U S 3, 729, 896, a closure consisting of an individual strip of self-adhesive tape is applied around the folded neck of a bag. With the device according to US 4,718,220, the ends of the self-adhesive tape confronting from the neck of the bag are covered with a strip of paper tape, which greatly facilitates the reopening of the bag. The object of the present invention is to improve the known systems, and in particular to make them more suitable and acceptable for professional applications such as in the retail trade or in the industry. In the industry such devices can also be used, for example, to close a cable handle. This object is achieved according to the present invention by providing a system according to the preamble of claim 1, which is characterized in that a wall of the closing device located near a tape roller during the normal operation of the closing device is provided with ring means projecting to the center of the roll, the center of the ribbon roll on the side intended to be positioned along the wall of the closing device which is provided with a circumferential groove into which the ring means it can be projected so that the roll of the ribbon can rotate freely and, the opposite end of the center being so that the ring means can not project into the opposite side to allow the roll of the ribbon to rotate freely. The invention is based on the fact that the tape roller often ends frequently when the device is being used more intensively. This means that the empty roller has to be swapped quickly by a new roller, for example in the retail trade when customers are waiting in the store. However, known systems allow the adhesive tape roll and also the paper tape roll if present, to be placed in an incorrect position in the closing device in the first case, so that the device becomes jammed during the next use. The necessary correction then leads to loss of time and annoyance. This inefficiency of the system has in practice led to other, more expensive and more time consuming ways to close bags, for example by means of loose plastic fasteners, which are used on a greatly increased scale. Although it is not difficult by itself to place a loose roll of tape correctly in the closing device, when such systems are in use, for example in the retail trade, another problem is the fact that a large number of personnel are employed only temporarily, and consequently are not familiar with the way the device works. The measure according to the invention means that no experience or knowledge of the system is required to replace the loose roll or rolls of tape quickly and without problems. The idea of the invention is achieved by placing a wall of the device located near the ribbon roll during normal operation of the device that is provided with ring means pointing to the roll, and causing the center of ribbon roll in such a way that the side intended to be located along the wall of the device is provided with a circumferential groove into which the ring means project and on the opposite side making it such that the ring means can not project into the core. It is noted that US 3 670 986 discloses a heat sealing type wrapping machine comprising handling means that prevent the mounting of a roll of tape in an incorrect position in the machine. Those known means of manipulation however, they prevent a free rotation between the spreading machine and the part of the belt roller on which the handling means operate. This has the consequence that the center of the tape roll must at least be formed in two rotating parts one in relation to the other. The system according to the invention does not need a two-part center for the tape roll as in US 3,670,986. This is due to the interaction between the ring means in the closing device and the circumferential groove on a particular side on the center of the ribbon roll that releases the roll of ribbon to rotate freely relative to the ring means. This forms the solution according to the invention to prevent the tape roll from being placed in the wrong position in a closing device much simpler and cheaper than the handling means according to US 3,670,986.
In a specific embodiment according to the invention, the ring means can be formed by an annular wall, which projects from the wall in question. In another embodiment, the ring means may consist of individual rings placed in a circle. The idea of the invention is particularly advantageous in the case of a closure device of the type described in US Pat. No. 4,718,220, in particular if the idea of the invention is being used to ensure that it is not possible to place the tape roll of loose paper in the wrong position on the device. If the roll of adhesive tape is placed incorrectly, the fact that the device is not working, it will become obvious that a mistake has been made, and the roll of paper tape will not turn in the wrong position. However, in practice, there is a risk that if the roll of paper tape is placed incorrectly, the paper tape is easily torn in the device so it can be moved over a sharp corner not intended for it and then It will tear as a result of sudden jerking movements exerted on the paper tape during use. The present will be explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 shows a perspective view, partially cut away, of a device for closing articles of the system according to the invention; Figure 2 shows a side view of the device in Figure 1, in which the downward bending wall thereof is omitted; and Figure 3 is a section along the line 111-111 in Figure 2 during normal use of the system according to the present invention. Figures 1 and 2 show a device 1 for closing according to the invention, having a plastic housing 4 which consists of a housing part 2 and with a support base and a cover 3 (shown only in Figure 1) ) which is fixed on a part 2 of the housing in such a way that it articulates approximately an axis of articulation located near the lower edge thereof. The housing 4 has a groove 5, which starts at the upper side thereof and extends in the direction of the support base, through which a bent, or otherwise compressed neck 6 of a bag slits. moves from the top to the bottom, in order to place a zip around the neck 6 of the bag. The housing 4 is provided with a support 7 for rotatably supporting a roll of a single-sided adhesive tape 8, which is indicated by the dotted lines in Figure 2. The housing 4 is also provided, with a support 9 designed essentially identically, to rotatably support a roll of paper web 10, which is similarly indicated by dashed lines in Figure 2. The device also comprises a star wheel 1 1 with radially extending rays. , between which spaces are present, in which the spaces of the neck 6 of the closed bag come to rest while the star wheel 1 1 passes. The star wheel 11 is rotatably mounted on an arrow 12 formed on the housing part 3, such that the spokes of the star wheel 1 1 extend over the slot 5 to the other side of the slot 5. In that side the housing part 3 contains an element 13 forming a curved wall part 14 located near the trajectory of the tips of the spokes of the star wheel 1 1. Passing the star wheel 1 1, seen in the direction of movement of the neck 6 of the bag, an incunable arm 1 5 extends over the slot 5, whose incunable arm 1 5 forms part of the cutter element 16. The cutter 16 is incunable around an arrow 1 7 securely fixed to the housing part 3 and held in the position shown in Figure 2 by means of a return spring 18. When the neck 6 of the bag pushes the incunable arm 15 out of slot 5, a cutter 19 aj used on the cutting element 1 6 moves within the slot and cuts the closure formed around the neck 6. For a detailed description of the operation of the device and the formation of the closure around the neck 6 of the bag, reference is made to US 4, 718,220. The idea of the invention will now be explained with reference to Figures 2 and 3. It is pointed out that the supports of the roll of paper tape and the roll of adhesive tape, and also the centers of both rolls, in this illustrative embodiment of the According to the invention they are of generally identical design, which is the reason why a description of the way in which the roll of paper tape and the parts of the device interact with it as they are designed will suffice. It can be seen in Figure 3 that the paper tape 10 is wound on a center 20. The center 20 is a plastic ring in which a circumferential groove 21 is formed on one of the two sides located at right angles to the axis of rotation, while the opposite side of the center 20 is essentially closed in design and, in particular, is not provided with an equal depth or a uniformly deeper circumferential groove. The center 20 has a cylindrical hole with a standard internal diameter, in particular of up to 6 cm.
In order to rotatably support the tape roll 10, the parts that can project into the center hole 20 are formed in a manner known per se on the housing part 2. There are two curved wall parts 23 and 24 which are positioned in a rigidly diametrically opposed to each other on the housing part 2, and also 2 elastic flanges 25 and 26 located diametrically opposite each other. The flanges 25 and 26 each support at their free end a thickened portion projecting outwards 27 and 28 respectively. When the center 20 is inserted into these portions 23, 24, 25 and 26, the ridges 25 and 26 move first inward, and then move outward again, and hold with their thickened portions 27 and 28 respectively on the center 20. , holding center 20 in this way. An annular wall projecting inwardly 30, which is located around the parts 23, 24, 25 and 26 projecting into the hole of the center 20, is formed on the inner wall of the housing part 2. The annular wall 30 is of such dimensions and is positioned in such a manner that the annular wall 30 projects within the slot 21 of the center 20 if the tape roll 10 has been placed in the correct position in the device. In this correct position, shown in Figure 3, the tape roll can rotate with slight friction.
It is obvious that if an erroneous attempt is made to place the roll of tape in another way in the device, the roll of tape can not be inserted over the parts 23, 24, 25 and 26 than in the thickened portions 27 and 28 of the elastic ribs 25 and 26 which can hold back the center 20. This means that the ribbon roll is not held in place, which becomes obvious to the person placing the roll of ribbon, who will immediately correct his error. Furthermore, in this incorrect position of the tape roll, the tape is displaced twisted in the device, which is very obvious and should be avoided as well, since in particular in the case of the paper tape this irrevocably leads to the tearing of the tape. tape. However, if the visibly incorrect position of the tape roll escapes the attention of the person, you will find that cover 3 does not close. This is achieved by the fact that the cover 3 is designed in such a way that it can be closed if the tape roll 10 is positioned in the correct manner. In this illustrative embodiment this is achieved by forming the rings 35 on the inside of the cover 3, whose rings are located near the roll of tape 10 when the device is closed. As a result of the slot 21 placed asymmetrically in the center 20, it is necessary to place the center 20 in the correct position in the winding machine I I of tape when the tape is being wound on the center 20. It becomes obvious from the above description that by relatively simple means it may be possible to place the tape roll incorrectly in the device. As a result of this improvement, the system is particularly suitable for intensive applications where the roll or rolls of tape have to be changed frequently and quickly by people who know little or nothing about the operation of such closure systems, such as in commerce. at retail or in the industry. It is also obvious that the concept of the invention can be equally attainable in a different form from that described with reference to the drawings.
