Description
METHOD FOR THE APPLICATION OF INFORMATION / ADVERTISING SIGNALS ON TRANSPORTING BANDS
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to the method for the application of information / advertising signs to place them on conveyor belts that can be used in cash counters in supermarkets, airports, etc., using a special type of printing for the production of such information signals / advertising, in addition to its application on such conveyor belts, as defined in claim 1. The use of information on conveyor belts is known from DE 4128664, where by the use of a special technique a part is cut of the conveyor belt and filled with rubber of different colors to build the desired information / advertising signals. The quality achieved when this technique is used is inadequate since the joint / junction between the existing band and the new colored rubber, which has been used as filler to make the signals, is released after a while because the band is guided on the rollers in the cash counter. In addition, such a technique only allows very simple information / advertising signals, due to the inability of the technique to make more detailed motives. In addition to requiring a lot of time, this technique is also expensive. Other solutions to process through silk screen directly on the
conveyor belt, or to apply stickers, etc., are inadequate, since the information / advertising signals are detached or separated in a very short time. Reference is made to the experiments carried out by Marks & Spencers in England (1990), for example, where the signals were destroyed. Furthermore, U.S. Patent 4,979,591 discloses a conveyor belt for a cash counter, wherein the information / advertising signals are applied to a conveyor belt. A distinctive print is transferred by transfer printing to the outer surface of the conveyor belt by applying ink and adhesive from a backed paper at a temperature of 120-160 ° C and a pressure of 2 to 6 bars. Consequently, a protective film is required for the product to be effective. These problems can be solved using another type of printing technique as well as application form. The purpose of this invention is to produce an improved method for the application of such a printing technique for placing the information / advertising signs on conveyor belts which does not present such disadvantages with respect to reduced quality, with respect to both the demand for the details of the Information / advertising signs such as your longevity. According to the present invention this is achieved by the part that characterizes claim 1, as well as the dependent claims. Therefore, an improved quality of the information / advertising signals is provided by using a special class of
printing that allows for more detailed motifs, combined with a technique for the application where the impression merges into the conveyor belt which becomes an integrated part of the conveyor part and consequently can not detach, and this results in an impression of quality that is expected to last a maximum of two years. As described in the following drawings, a special impression can be applied to the conveyor belt by the use of required equipment such as a combined heat / pressure printer that melts and secures information / advertising signals on the conveyor belt by use of a combination of pressure (bars) and heat (° C). The conveyor belt consists of 3 layers, wherein the two upper layers are PVC and the lower one is a sheet, as illustrated in Figure 2. Other aspects of the invention which are described in the dependent claims, will be described in more detail in the following description of the invention when referring to the drawings. In the drawings: Figure 1 illustrates the information / advertising signals, Figure 2 illustrates a conveyor belt with information / advertising signals applied to a cash counter, Figure 3 illustrates a conveyor belt with information / advertising signals applied to a cash counter,
Figure 4 illustrates a heat / pressure printing press that is used for the application of special information / advertising signals. Figure 1 illustrates the information / advertisement signals in perspective (1). Figure 2 illustrates the conveyor belt (2a) in perspective, as well as its structure where the two upper layers (4, 5) are PVC and the lower layer (6) is a sheet. Figure 3 illustrates the appearance of the conveyor belt (2a) when mounted on a cash register counter (2) subsequent to the application of the information / advertising signals (1) by means of such heat press (3). /Pressure. The signals 1 comprising the information / advertisement have thus been applied to the conveyor belt (2a) by means of the hot lower plate (7) and the upper plate (8) moving towards each other creating such pressure as a field of heat. The lower plate (7) and the upper plate (8) reach a temperature of 70-130 ° C. The conveyor belt comprising the information / advertising signs (1) in the upper part is placed between the lower plate (7) and the upper plate (8) by the use of pressure in the scale of 6-9 bars, which it results in the information / advertising signals 1 becoming an integrated part of the surface of the conveyor belt (2a) when applying such heat / pressure printing means (3), without reducing the quality or longevity of the web conveyor (2a). Therefore, the conveyor belt (2a) which acts as a surface for extending the printing comprising the information / advertising signs (1), can provide the customer with clear information, such as payment through the use of credit cards, or to remind the staff of the accountants of
box that is illegal to sell alcohol / tobacco to minors, as well as allow the application of desired signals to the conveyor belt (2a). The method of the invention will provide, when applied, to customers in supermarkets, airports, etc., clear and accurate information, which products and services are offered / provided through the store, as well as provide to the suppliers of goods. and store services the possibility of informing customers about the availability and existence of their products and services. While waiting to pay at the cash counters, customers have the opportunity to read / observe the information / advertising signs that are on the conveyor belt.
Claims (3)
1. A method for applying information / advertising signals on a conveyor belt that can be used in cash counters in supermarkets, airports, etc., characterized in that a printing technique is used that melts information / advertising signals on the conveyor belt and for they thus become part of it by the use of a heat / pressure printing press that secures the information / advertising signals to the conveyor belt by the combination of heat and pressure, where the information / advertising signals are applied to the conveyor belt pressing the bottom plate towards the hot top plate.
2. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that the surface of the information / advertising signs used does not exceed the surface / height of the conveyor belt and therefore will not come off.
3. The method according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the upper plate and the lower plate of the heat / pressure press reach a temperature and a pressure, respectively, which results in the information / advertising signals becoming an integrated part of the surface and / or material of the conveyor belt when applied in the heat / pressure press.
