Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for winding a strip of material, characterized in that it comprises the steps of: a) providing a reel of the type including: i) a first flange and a second flange; ii) a core placed between and separating first flange of the second flange: and iii) a transverse groove placed in the core, the transverse groove is configured to receive a strip of material therein, b) provide a strip of material of the type including: i) a plurality of wires placed adjacent to each other, and ii) the plurality of wires collectively defines a strip of wires having a leading or guiding end and a trailing end, c) inserting the leading end of the strip of wires into the transverse groove, and d) winding or wind the strip of wires around the

Description

METHOD FOR ROLLING A STRIP OF WIRES, PLACED NEARBY EACH. SIMILAR TO STICKED WIRES DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The invention relates to a method for winding a strip of wire, placed close to one another on a spool; so the reel consists of a core and two tabs. The winding of a strip or band of wires, placed close to one another, is now done by fixing the front end of the strip to the core of the reel through strips of adhesive tape. Such strip or band of wires, placed close to each other, is described, in Belgian Patent No. 796,955 of Applicant N.V. BEKAERT S.A .. The strip may consist, for example, of 100 to 200 wires, placed close to one another, where the wires show an almost rectangular cross section. The wires are preferably held together with glue. A first disadvantage of the present method for fixing the front end of the strip of wires placed close to each other, to the core of the reel, is that it is necessary to fix the principle of this through strips of adhesive tape, which is rather problematic and consumer of time. In addition, this method requires the use of an adhesive tape.
A second disadvantage of the present method is that the ends of the wires, placed close to each other, form a very sharp extremity. When the strip of wires is warped and unwound, placed close to each other in the core of the spool, this sharp tip can damage the connecting windings. The object of the invention is to eliminate the aforementioned disadvantages. For this purpose, the invention learns, in the case of a method of the type mentioned at the beginning, that a spool is taken, of which the core is provided with at least one crossing slot, the leading end of the strip of wires placed near one of the other, is placed in the crossing groove, and then, the winding of the successive wires of the strip on the reel is continued. An advantage of the method according to the invention is that it is no longer necessary to attach the front end of the strip to the core of the reel through adhesive tape. Another important advantage of the method, according to the invention, is that the sharp front end of the wire strip, placed close to each other, is completely taken into the core, through which the cutting effect of the wire is completely eliminated. the same with respect to other successive windings.
Preferably, a reel, of which the core consists of a number of almost identical parts and whereby a crossing groove is formed each time between each pair of parts of the joint core, is taken. The invention will be further illustrated in the following description, based on the corresponding drawings. In the drawings there is shown: Figure 1 a perspective view, of part of a strip of wires, placed close to each other; Figure 2 is a perspective view of the fixation of the start of the wires, placed close to each other, to the core of the reel, and Figure 3 is a perspective view, showing the placement of the core parts to a reel tab. Figure 1 shows in a perspective view part of a strip 1 of wires 2 placed close to each other. The width of the strip or band 1 can vary, for example, from 100 to 200 mm. Strip 1 consists, for example, of 100 to 200 steel wires placed close to one another, wherein the steel wires have an almost rectangular cross section. The dimensions of the rectangular cross section of each wire are, for example, 0.95mm to 0.64mm. The wires 2 are preferably glued together. Such strips of bonded steel wires are used in particular to be fibers. As already mentioned, the strip or strip 1 of steel wires has already been described in Belgian Patent No. 796,955 of the Applicant N.V. BEKAERT S.A .. Figure 2 shows in perspective view as the front end of the strip i of the steel wires 2 placed close to each other, it is fixed to the core 3 of the spool 4. For this purpose, a reel or winder 4 is taken, of which the core 3 is at least provided by a cross slot 5, and the start of the strip 1 is placed in the crossover slot 5. Preferably, the crossover slot 5 extends the distance between the two flanges 6 of the spool 4, and the width of the strip is a little smaller than the distance between the flanges 6. After fixing the front end of the strip 1, the successive windings of the strip 1 are wound on the reel 4. The fixing of the rear end of the strip 1 of the last winding is made through the adhesive tape, joining the wire or other fixing materials . Figure 3 shows in perspective the placement of two parts of the core 3 on a flange 6 during the composition of a reel 4, when the core 3 of the reel 4 consists of two almost identical core 3 parts. The spool 4 consists of two almost identical tabs 6 and two almost identical parts of the core 3, whereby the parts of the core 3 are fixed to the tabs 6 through pins 7 and notches 8. The two parts of the core 3 are almost The identical ones are made, for example, of steel sheet with a thickness of 2 mm, folded in half to a circumference of a circle with an inside diameter of ± 500mm and a width of + 160mm. Each sheet is provided in two places with a thin tube 9, which is welded to the sheet and which serves to take the threaded pins or rods 7. The flanges 6 are preferably made of wood and are provided with a number of four supports 10 to fix the parts of the core 3 on the right plane and to support them. The flanges 6 are also provided with an arrow hole 11 and a number of four holes 12 for taking the pins 7. It is important to be careful in the distance d between the edges of the two parts of the connecting core 3 that it is sufficiently large to take the leading end of the strip of wires placed close to each other in the formed cross groove 5. The distance d is preferably about 10 to 20 mm. Other advantages of using a metal core of at least two core parts consist of the following: when the reels 4 are to be disassembled, the parts of the core 3 can be stacked in and placed with each other; which leads to a conrable saving of space when those parts of the core 3 are transported. The flanges 6 can be thought of safely, since the parts of the metal core 3 are not compressible, which is not the case when using cores of cardboard. All the dimensions mentioned above are only given as an example.
