Abstract

The present invention relates to a disc brake, of floating caliper, for motor vehicles, which includes a floating caliper, which is mounted on the outer edge of a brake disc in a U-shaped manner and which, by means of of one leg axially inwards, in support and can slide axially in a part of the brake carrier of a steering knuckle of the vehicle wheel, by means of pin guides, which includes brake shoes arranged on either side of the wheel of the vehicle. brake and supported on the brake carrying part by lateral projections of its rear plates, in which the leg axially towards the outside of the floating caliper, is attached and resiliently supported on the brake shoe to the outside, by a spring, characterized in that the projections from the back plate of the brake shoe to the outside, they extend inwards in a circumferential direction, until they bump into the brake caliper, to prevent rattle of the brake shoe during operation without braking

Description

DISC BRAKE. OF FLOATING CALIBER. FOR AUTOMOBILE VEHICLES The present invention relates to a disc brake, of floating caliber, for motor vehicles, according to the preamble of patent claim 1. A generic disc brake is described in German Patent Application No. 38 15 733. A floating caliper is axially guided in a sliding manner on a brake bearing part of a steering knuckle in the disc brake of the prior art. An external brake shoe is attached to an external leg of the floating gauge by a spring. The outer leg of the floating gauge is elastically supported on the part of the brake carrier, by means of the mentioned spring, and an additional spring of wire. Rattling noises occur during the impulse without braking, because the external brake shoe has some freedom of movement in its guide on the carrier part of the brake, due to the functional clearing. This freedom of movement is only limited by the elastic connection to the outer leg of the floating gauge. An object of the present invention is to improve a generic disc brake, so as to prevent rattling noise, during operation without braking.
This object is achieved by the characterizing portion of claim 1. In the floating caliper, according to the present invention, the external brake shoe is supported in a circumferential direction in the outer leg and is thus limited in its range of motion, in such a way that the rattle in its guides in the carrier part of the brake is prevented. In this arrangement, the elastic support of the floating gauge, in a radial direction, is not damaged. In a preferred aspect of the present invention, according to claim 2, the external leg of the floating caliper includes side grooves, in which the projections of the external brake shoe engage. Slots of this type further restrict the freedom of movement of the external brake shoe in an axial direction and, simultaneously, improve its guidance in a circumferential direction. One embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the drawings: Figure 1 is a top view, in partial cross section, of a disc brake according to the present invention; Figure 2 is a side view of the disc brake of Figure 1, from the external axial side; and Figure 3 is an enlarged partial view of a projection of a rear plate of the external brake shoe. A floating caliper disk brake for motor vehicles, according to the present invention, includes a floating caliper 1, which is mounted on the outer edge of a brake disk 2 in a U-shaped manner. 3, axially inside, of the floating gauge 1, is supported and can slide axially on a part 5 of the brake carrier of a steering trunnion (not shown) of the vehicle wheel, by means of pin guides 4. Two brake shoes, 6, 7, are arranged on either side of the brake disk 2 to be supported on the carrier part 5 of the brake, by lateral projections 8, 9, 10, 11 of the rear plates 12, 13. A leg 14 to the outside of the floating caliper 2 is elastically attached to the brake shoe 7 to the outside by a spring 15. To prevent rattling noises of the brake shoe 7 to the outside, which are due to the functional clearance 16 , in their guides in the brake carrier part 5, during the operation without braking, The projections 10, 11 of the rear plate 13 of the brake shoe 7 to the outside, extend inwards in a circumferential direction, until they meet in an abutting surface 17, 18. The result is that the brake shoe 7 to the exterior always abuts its projections 10, 11, on the leg 14 to the outside, in a circumferential direction, is fixed on the floating caliper 2 and prevents rattling . To improve the present invention, the floating gauge 2 includes in its leg 14 to the outside, grooves 19, 20, which are arranged laterally in a circumferential direction and inside which the projections 10, 11 of the brake shoe 7 are coupled to the outside. In this arrangement, the brake shoe 7 to the outside is fixed, in improved form, in the circumferential and axial directions, and protected against rattle. In addition, this arrangement works additionally as a prevention of mixing. When the brake shoe 6 to the interior differs from the brake shoe 7 to the outside, or in the configuration of its rear plate 12, the configuration of the projections 8, 9 or the configuration of its friction lining, the brake shoes 6 and 7 should not be confused. In this case, the grooves 19, 20, together with the projections 10, 11, correspondingly configured, of the brake shoe 7 to the outside, provide a wedge, thus preventing the mounting of the brake shoe 6 to the interior in the leg 14. to the outside of the floating gauge 2.

Claims (2)

  1. CLAIMS 1. A floating caliper disc brake for motor vehicles, including a floating caliper, which is mounted on the outer edge of a brake disc in a U-shaped manner and which, by means of a leg axially inwardly, is supported and can slide axially in a part of the brake carrier of a steering knuckle of the vehicle wheel, by means of pin guides, which include brake shoes disposed on any side of the disk brake and supported on the brake carrying part by lateral projections of its rear plates, in which the leg axially towards the outside of the floating gauge, is elastically joined and supported in the brake shoe to the outside, by a spring, characterized in that the projections of the rear plate of the brake shoe to the outside, extend inwards in a circumferential direction, until they bump into the brake caliper, to prevent rattling of the brake shoe during operation without braking.
  2. 2. The disc brake, as claimed in the claim, end face because the floating gauge includes lateral grooves in its leg to the outside, for coupling by the projections of the brake shoe to the outside.
