Description

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING CIGARS IN A SUPPLY TYPE MACHINE OPERATED BY A CONSUMER TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing cigars in a dispenser-type machine, and which is operable by a consumer, wherein the consumer can select a particular type of tobacco or flake leaves packed in a predetermined amount, and insert these sheets or flakes into a machine which will immediately produce cigars and supply them to the consumer in bulk form.
The manufacture of cigars is known by the use of manually operable devices which allows the insertion of tobacco in bulk or in taibleta, to form cigar tubes. An example of such a device is described in Canadian Patent 1,271,389. These devices are for domestic use and allow a person to produce cigars in a more economical way. This type of devices and machines have been known for several decades, but most of these devices can only produce one cigar at a time, and producing it requires a lot of work. There are also known trucking machines to supply packages of cigars pre-selected by the consumer. However, cigars are pre-packaged and such cigarettes are even more expensive than those conventionally purchased in stores. German patent DE-U-8711945.5 discloses a machine capable of cutting tobacco leaves to form finely cut tobacco which can then be packaged in cigar tubes. However, this patent does not disclose the formation of individual or selected mixtures by the consumer when selecting the leaves or flakes stored in predetermined quantities in storage means to prevent the tobacco from drying and then inserting it in a machine in which the tobacco is cut. and transferred to a tubing station, where afterwards the cigars are unloaded. However, there is a need to provide a novel concept and methods as well as a machine that automatically produces cigars in predetermined amounts, and quickly from sheets or flakes of bulk tobacco, which are previously selected by a consumer.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE OWENTION A feature of the present invention is to provide a method and machine that satisfies a need which has hitherto not been provided by the prior art described above. Another feature of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing cigars through a dispensing-type machine and from a predetermined amount of sheets or flakes of tobacco selected by a consumer. The method comprises storing predetermined amounts of leaves or flakes of tobacco in storage media, wherein the leaves or flakes of tobacco are prevented from drying, and in a hermetically protected manner to retain a certain percentage of moisture in the leaves or flakes. Another feature of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing cigars in a dispensing-type machine and from a predetermined amount of tobacco leaves or flakes selected by a consumer, wherein the machine is operated solely by the consumer and comprises a station. cutting to produce finely cut tobacco from the leaves or flakes, and a tubing station for packing the finely cut tobacco into cigar tubes which are then supplied to the consumer. Another feature of the present invention is to provide a novel method for manufacturing cigars in a dispenser-type machine which can be conveniently assembled in small suitable stores and other larger type vending machines, which machine is easy to use and easy to service . According to the above characteristics, from a broad aspect, the present invention provides a method for manufacturing cigars in a dispensing-type machine and from a predetermined amount of sheets or flakes of tobacco selected by the consumer. The method comprises storing predetermined amounts of leaves or flakes of tobacco in storage media, where the leaves or flakes of tobacco are prevented from drying out. One or more of the predetermined amounts of tobacco flakes or sheets are selected and inserted into a receiving opening of the machine. The leaves or flakes of tobacco are placed in the opening and cut by the machine to produce a predetermined amount of finely cut tobacco. The finely cut tobacco is transferred to a casing station where the finely cut tobacco is automatically placed in cigar tubes to form cigars which are supplied for reception by the consumer.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF IOS DRAWINGS A preferred embodiment of the present invention will now be described with reference to the drawings in which: Figure 1 is a flow diagram showing the cigar production process according to the present invention; and Figure 2 is a front view showing a display unit incorporating therein a typical example of the manner in which the machine carries out the method of the present invention that can be provided for ease of use by a consumer. final.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED MODALITIES Referring now to the drawings, and more particularly to Figure 1, some of the steps in the process of the present invention for the manufacture of cigars are shown. The cigars are manufactured from sheets or flakes 10 of tobacco from which the stems 11 are cut before placing them, in predetermined quantities, in bags 12. The bags 12 can be transparent or non-transparent and can be printed material 13 therein to identify the type of tobacco leaves placed therein. Tobacco can also be stored differently in sealed containers. The sheets 12 are then sealed in the part 14 to provide hermetically sealed bags to retain moisture in the tobacco leaves. These bags 12 can be provided in different sizes, such as bags 12 and 12 'to maintain predetermined amounts of tobacco cuts, in the present 20 g or 200 g are packaged to make two or twenty cigars. With further reference to Figure 2, it can be seen that these bags are conveniently stored in a display cabinet 15 for selection by any final consumer. The consumer selects the type of tobacco he wants and the size of the bag based on the number of cigars he also wants to obtain. The person opens the bag and inserts the tobacco cuts into the receiving channel or into the receiving opening 16 of a tobacco cutting machine 17, where the tobacco is cut or slit by cutting means (not shown) for example, swinging blades placed by default, to provide finely cut tobacco. The finely cut tobacco is then discharged, as it slides, through a discharge opening 18 and is received in a receptacle 19 which is positioned adjacent the opening 18 by the consumer. The consumer then transfers the finely cut tobacco 20 contained within the container 19 to a receiving channel or opening 21 of an incubator machine 22. The tubing machine processes the finely cut tobacco and inserts it into a predetermined number of cigar tubes 23 which are loaded into the tubing machine by the final consumer or by another person who attends the machine. Preferably, the tubing machine maintains a large amount of these cigar tubes. The machine inserts a predetermined amount of this tobacco into the tube and simultaneously discharges it through a discharge gate 24, where the cigars are collected, into the receptacle or bag 19 'placed thereunder by the consumer. Alternatively, the machine can supply all of the cigars in a receiving compartment which is visible to the consumer, which is provided at the base of the machine, so that when all of the cigarettes have been supplied, the consumer simply open the compartment when opening a door or other obvious means and remove the cigarettes.
The display case 15 is also made to contain supplies of cigar tubes placed in boxes 25 as well as supplies of bags 26 or cigar packs 27 in which the bulk cigars that are supplied by the machine in casings can be placed by the consumer. It is emphasized that with this type of cigar manufacturing method, the cost to produce cigars can be greatly reduced. The machine can also be completely automated so that the finely cut tobacco produced by the cutting machine is automatically fed to a tubing station inside a single machine housing so that the consumer only needs to place the leaves or flakes of tobacco within the receiver channel 16 and collect the cigars 30 manufactured in an outlet container or compartment. The machine may be capable of producing cigars at a rate of about one cigar per second. It is within the scope of the present invention to cover any other of the obvious modifications of the present invention, with the proviso that such modifications are within the scope of the appended claims.
It is noted that in relation to this date, the best method known by the applicant to carry out the aforementioned invention, is the conventional one for the manufacture of the objects to which it relates. Having described the invention as above, property is claimed as contained in the following:
