Abstract

Se implementa una modalidad de la invencion en una red S2000 (cdma2000). Esta red comunica datos provenientes de una estacion base hacia una estacion movil por un canal en avance complementario. Con objeto de mantener el mejor canal de comunicaciones para las transmisiones de datos, la estacion movil monitorea las senales recibidas provenientes de un conjunto activo de estaciones base (410, 420) e identifica la senal mas resistente de un conjunto activo reducido (430) de manera que la estacion base correspondiente pueden seleccionarse para las comunicaciones de datos. Despues de la ocurrencia de las condiciones que indican que debe seleccionarse una nueva estacion base dentro del conjunto activo reducido, la estacion movil le proporciona una notificacion a las estaciones bases en el conjunto activo reducido de manera que las transmisiones de datos adicionales se realizaran por la estacion base recientemente seleccionada.
