Abstract

The invention relates to means which are used to evacuate dwellings, residential buildings, etc. and means for raising and/or lowering a load. More specifically, the invention relates to a ladder comprising sliding steps or bars, which is intended for the emergency evacuation of buildings. The inventive ladder is characterised in that it comprises an upper mechanism for adjustably fixing the device at the corresponding area, said mechanism having two lateral telescopic supports projecting from the lower face thereof. According to the invention, the aforementioned lateral telescopic supports consist of a series of vertical telescopic sections comprising: a central collinear groove on the inner face thereof corresponding to a rubber insert which is used to control the sliding of the steps or bars, and a guide rail comprising a central ring which is disposed between the final lower telescopic sections of the telescopic supports. Moreover, the upper end of the telescopic supports is equip ped with a transverse bar comprising a central reel for a band, the end of said band being connected to the ring of the lower bar for the raising and lowering of the telescopic sections. Furthermore, the lateral telescopic supports are equipped internally with a crane-type mechanism for raising and lowering the steps or bars with a freedom of movement.
