Abstract
Un metodo para predecir valores de parametros de formacion (v.gr., velocidad de compresion, densidad, presion de poro, y presion de fractura) como una funcion de profundidad incluye generar una prediccion inicial de un perfil de los parametros de formacion e incertidumbre asociadas con los mismos utilizando informacion disponible respecto a la formacion, obtener informacion relacionada con los parametros de formacion durante la perforacion, y actualizar las incertidumbres como una funcion de la primera prediccion y la informacion obtenida en una forma recursiva. Las ecuaciones conocidas se utilizan para encontrar valores iniciales, e incertidumbre asociadas con los mismos se cuantifican utilizando funciones de densidad de probabilidad (PDFs). Un acercamiento de Bayes se utiliza donde en donde "PDFs anteriores" describen incertidumbre antes de obtener informacion adicional, y los "PDFs posteriores" consideran la informacion adicional adquirida. A medida que la informacion adicional s adquiere mientras que se perfora, los PDFs posteriores se definen nuevamente.
