Abstract

La norma ATSC para la transmision de television digital especifica un canal de datos ademas de los canales de audio y video normales. Se proporciona una metodologia para usar un canal de datos ATSC para transmitir corrientes de video MPEG-54, para el cual se crea un nuevo servicio de video. Las corrientes MPEG-4 se pueden encapsular en paquetes MPEG-2 PES (Corrientes Elementales Empaquetadas) o directamente en paquetes de transporte MPEG-2. Estos mecanismos permiten la transmision sincronizada de las corrientes MPEG-4 para un sistema de TV digital ATSC sin un cambio en la norma ATSC cuando se moldean los datos. En un sistema para la transmision de informacion de audio y video, en donde el sistema queda restringido para operar conforme a la norma determinada, se proporciona una de una metodologia de codificacion determinada, la transmision de informacion con el uso de la metodologia de transmision que es independiente de la metodologia decodificacion, mediante al codificacion de informacion en una pluralidad de incrementos (310) codificados de conformidad con la metodologia de codificacion independiente; y encapsular los incrementos de informacion codificada en una porcion (324) de carga util de paquetes de transmision establecida de conformidad con la norma determinada.
