Abstract

Una zapata de freno para su uso en un vehiculo de ferrocarril para reacondicionar una superficie de neumatico de rueda durante una aplicacion de frenado normal que incluye una contraplaca y un primer material de friccion que se extiende sobre la superficie de freno de dicha zapata de freno; ademas contiene un segundo material de friccion, formado como un inserto separado moldeado en dicho primer material de friccion; en un principio dicho segundo material de friccion esta completamente incrustado; una superficie del inserto cuya exposicion se incrementa gradualmente conforme se desgasta el primer material de tipo friccion; dicho segundo material de friccion muestra propiedades abrasivas y esta unido a dicha contraplaca; un tercer material de friccion esta colocado como otro inserto separado incrustado en el primer material de tipo friccion; una superficie del tercer material de friccion abrasivo esta colocado como parte de la superficie de freno de la zapata de freno.
