Abstract

Un esquema de administracion de energia para uso en un dispositivo inalambrico reduce el consumo de energia del modulo de interfase de la red del dispositivo inalambrico por medio de selectivamente poner el modulo de interfase de la red en un estado de baja potencia durante un tiempo de inactividad. La duracion del tiempo de inactividad es calculada de tal manera que se espera que la cantidad de datos de transito retardados acumulados sea menor que o igual al umbral seleccionado previamente cuando el modulo de interfase de la red es puesto en el estado de baja potencia durante el tiempo de inactividad calculado. La cantidad de datos de transito retardados como una funcion del tiempo de inactividad esta modelado usando las velocidades promedio de arribo interno y de servicio que son derivadas desde los datos de las estadisticas de transito.
