Abstract

Un implante de lente intraocular deshidratado primero se dobla y luego se inserta en el ojo a traves de una incision en el ojo. Despues el implante de lente intraocular deshidratado se deja que se desdoble, se hidrate en el ojo y se expanda a sus dimensiones deseadas. El implante de lente intraocular esta constituido por un polimero, en donde el polimero es flexible y elastico cuando se deshidrata para facilitar que el implante de lente intraocular se doble y se inserte a traves de la incision en el ojo. El polimero tambien es expansible al estar hidratado, de manera que despues de la insercion en el ojo, el implante de lente intraocular se hidrata y se expande.
