Abstract

Un dispositivo de biofiltracion (10) para tratar aguas residuales que comprende un alojamiento (22) que tiene una entrada (40) para recibir las aguas residuales a tratarse y una salida para descargar las aguas residuales tratadas, un lecho de turba (38) colocado dentro del alojamiento entre la entrada y salida, la turba definiendo un medio de biofiltracion que tiene una capacidad de biofiltracion predeterminada, y una ventilacion de aire (70) para airear la turba. El dispositivo incluye ademas un sistema de control del flujo de fluido (42) instalado sobre el lecho de turba (38) y en comunicacion de flujo de fluido con la entrada, para distribuir las aguas residuales a traves del lecho de turba en una manera tal que cuando las aguas residuales entran al sistema a una velocidad de flujo mayor a la capacidad de biofiltracion de la turba, las aguas residuales descargadas desde el sistema fluyen a traves del lecho de turba a una velocidad de flujo no mayor a la capacidad de biofiltracion. El dispositivo de biofiltracion de acuerdo a la invencion permite tratar eficazmente aguas residuales entrantes sin considerar su velocidad de flujo.
