The removing means includes an expanding fork 9 for retaining the trimmed blow-dome 2b on the cutting head 5, 8. A proximity sensor 21 detects the passage of every dome 2b towards the hopper 22.
Description
SYSTEM OF DISCHARGE OF THE CLIPS OF A PLASTIC MOLDED BOTTLE
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to the finishing of a plastic bottle formed by blow molding a parison, and in particular with the auxiliary operations outside the mold, for the unloading and collection of the cuts detached in the finish.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The plastic bottles blow molded of a parison, are subjected to a process of finishing the mouth of the neck, by means of which a leftover dome is cut to leave a regular surface in the mouth of the be, it, in order to ensure a good closing through a screw cap. In an automatic device for trimming the remaining dome, the supply of the bottles is synchronized with the cutting device of the remaining dome, and the latter with the attachment and centering of the neck of the bottle under the cutting device, and in addition with the discharge of the cupola cut from the cutting device. The bottle is finally moved out of the cutting device, and being destined to the packaging of beverages, no piece of the cut-off dome has to fall inside. For this purpose, the devices
Bottleneck trimmers should be complemented by a system for unloading and automatically collecting the dome after trimming, whereby the trimming is extracted from the cutting device to a collection system that leads to an outer container of trimmings. US-5787772 discloses an apparatus for trimming the neck of a bottle, by means of a rotating cutting head with a blade that separates the remaining dome from the neck, and then extracting it by means of a vacuum attraction system upwards of the bottle, through a central passage of the head, finally depositing it in a container.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The object of the invention is an automatic system for unloading the excess dome from the neck of a blow molded plastic bottle, which has previously been cut by a cutting head in a trimmer apparatus, as defined in claim 1 The unloading system of the bottle-shaped dome according to the invention synchronizes the unloading and collection of the successive cupolas cut with the cutting device, and with the system of unitary advancement of the bottles, the last two pertaining to a previous patent application in the name of the same holder. The unloading system ensures that none of the cut domes expelled downwards, falls into the bottle from which it was cut or from the bottle immediately following, the
which will automatically access under the cutting device for trimming after the previous bottle has been moved. The trimmer in which the discharge system of the domes is incorporated, has a vertical cylindrical head provided with a cutting blade, which in a descending path on the neck of the bottle cuts the entire dome first, and a member of extraction mounted on the same head, in a subsequent ascending stroke retains the cupola cut and then the whole ejected down. The unloading system also includes a collection subsystem that is interposed between the cylindrical cutting and ejection head, and a mechanism of the trimmer for the attachment and centering of the bottleneck, and collects the successive cupolas cut by controlling their passage through a collecting duct, in order to ensure that each cupola cut is removed from the trimmer. The discharge system discriminates the cases of absence of bottle under the cutting device, when the passage of a cut dome is not detected. The cut-out domes are reused as plastic material in a subsequent bottle molding.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of the bottleneck finishing machine, in which the unloading system of the cut-off domes is incorporated, according to the invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
With reference to Figure 1, in the trimmer 1 there is shown a neck of a bottle or blow-molded container 2, which has been positioned vertically with the neck 2a to be trimmed upwards by a feeder (not shown in the drawings) unit, having remained after the molding process a coaxial dome 2b on the neck 2a to be trimmed. The trimmer apparatus 1 further comprises a gripping mechanism 4 with two semicircular jaws 4a for holding and centering the neck, and a cylindrical head 5.8 of vertical and rotary cutting supported on a fixed horizontal table 7, comprising a cutting device 5. The horizontal displacement of the jaws 4a for closing against the neck 2a and its opening is synchronized by the cam axis 3, with the action of the head 5.8. The unloading system 10 according to the invention comprises an extraction device 8 incorporated in the head 5.8, and a collection subsystem 16-23 of the successive cut-off domes mounted on the trimmer apparatus 1 under the head 5.8. The head 5.8 is located below the table 7 of the apparatus, and the cutting device 5 has a central body 5a cylindrical and a flat cutter blade 6 fixed vertically to the periphery of the central body 5a. To trim the mouth of the neck 2a, the head 5.8 descends and the blade 6
insert and cut the neck flange 2a. A flat side rim 14 of the head 5.8 has a projection preventing the decentering of the dome 2b during cutting. The device 8 for the extraction of the cupola 2b trimmed from the neck is coaxial with the cutting device 5 and comprises an expandable fork 9 which is inserted through the mouth of the dome 2b and retains it after cutting, a support disc 12 concentric with the central body 5a that in its upward displacement abuts with a bushing 11 of the table, and an ejector plate 13 abutting the dome 2b in its downward displacement prior to cutting, and then ejects the cupola 2b cut off and retained by the fork 9 in an upward displacement. When the head 5.8 travels upwards and the support disc 12 abuts the bushing 11, the cutting device 5 continues its upward movement, and the ejector plate 13 discharges the dome 2b retained by the fork 9 to the collection system 16. -2. 3. The collection subsystem 16-23 comprises a collection tray 16 movable horizontally under the head 5.8, which is rectangular section and open above, a blow tube 17 laterally attached to the collection tray 16, to drive the latter and move it through a pneumatic cylinder 23 synchronized with the gripping mechanism 4, a duct 19 of the cut-away domes 2b telescopically hinging the collection tray 16, a funnel 20 coupled to the projecting end of the duct 19, a bright infrared or laser sensor 21 which detects the passage from a dome to
through the funnel 20, and a hopper 22 that collects the domes 2b to deposit it in a shredder. The blow tube 17 has at the free end a pressurized air injector 18 for driving the cupolas 2b cut into the conduit 19. The latter is of rectangular section like the tray 16, and its upper face extends above the tray 16, fixed to the table 7, through vertical flat support plates 15, abutting the head 5.8. This prevents the dome 2b from ejecting from the head 5.8, when being driven by the pressurized air supplied by that of the tube 17, it jumps upwards. Said upper face of the fixed conduit 19 has a circular central hole for the passage of the head 5.8 towards the neck 2a of the bottle. The take-up tray 16, performing a reciprocating movement, when retracted from the apparatus leaves free the passage of the head 5.8, which now descends to effect the cutting of the dome 2b, and after the cut returns under the head 5.8 to collect the dome 2b cut, before being ejected by the head 5.8 in its upward path.
