Abstract

The invention relates to a pliers type hand tool to hold pieces (5) in-between two jaws (3, 4), one being a fixed jaw (3) and the other being a mobile jaw (4). The tool has a fixed arm (1) and a mobile arm (2) hingedly connected by one of their ends. The fixed jaw (3) is mounted on the end of the fixed arm (1). A cylinder (12) bearing the mobile jaw (4) that is screwed to the free end thereof can be axially displaced in the body of the fixed arm. The cylinder (12) is actuated by the mobile arm (2) due to the fact that these two elements (12, 2) are joined by a connecting rod (6). A rotational movement of the mobile arm (2) is transformed into a linear forward motion of the cylinder (12), and, consequently, of the mobile jaw (4), to grip the piece (5) or pieces. The mobile jaw is in turn a screw for adjusting the distance between the two jaws (3, 4) to attain optimum blocking. The mobile arm (2) is placed against and concealed by the fixed arm (1) and has a hingedly mounted cam or release lever (133) facilitating said operation.

Description

PERFECTED MANUAL TOOL OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The present invention, as expressed in the wording of this specification, refers to an improved manual tool of the type of pliers used for the fastening of one or several pieces and that due to its special structure and configuration presents some dimensions that are advantageously minimal. The tool of the invention is of the type consisting of a fixed arm and a movable arm, as well as a fixed jaw and another mobile jaw in order to securely and completely secure the parts. The tool also includes an interlocking mechanism to secure the blocking position. Precisely, the novelty of the invention focuses essentially on that effective and simple locking mechanism that has an advantageous structure and functionality. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The perfected manual tool that constitutes the object of the invention is of the type of pincer for the fastening of pieces, at the same time that due to its special configuration it has reduced dimensions. It comprises two arms, one fixed and one mobile, counting the same, respectively, with a fixed jaw and a mobile jaw, both facing each other and between which one or several pieces will be placed to hold that will be pressed between both jaws when the assembly of the tool is in its active blocking or interlocking position. The tool includes an in-nailing mechanism that is determined from a connecting rod that is hingedly coupled by one of its ends to a cylinder where the movable jaw itself is connected and which is conducted in a guide hole of the fixed arm. In contrast, the other end of the rod is connected, also articulately, to the mobile arm itself, which is linked in turn articulated at an end point of the fixed arm. With this described arrangement, in order to place the tool in the locked position it will be necessary to tilt the mobile arm until it comes to rest against the fixed arm. During this operation, the cylinder and the mobile jaw itself will approach the fixed jaw with a linear movement and driven in the guide hole, until the piece or pieces to be held are pressed between both jaws. In order to release the blocking position, a cam-like bar engaged on the mobile arm will be actuated, initially pressing one end of said cam on said fixed arm. It should be noted that in the position of locking or interlocking of the tool, the two points of articulation of the connecting rod, as well as the point of articulation of both arms will be aligned in the same direction. Below, in order to facilitate a better understanding of this descriptive specification and forming an integral part of it, some figures are attached in which the object of the invention has been presented with an illustrative and non-limiting character. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Figure 1.- Represents an elevational view of the improved manual tool, object of the invention. The tool in question is in a blocking or interlocking position. Figure 2 .- Represents an elevation view of the tool of the invention where it is in an unlocked position. DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT Referring to the numbering adopted in the figures, the improved manual tool comprises a fixed arm 1 and a movable arm 2, both including respectively a fixed jaw 3 and a mobile jaw 4. The fixed arm 1 constitutes the main body of the tool. The tool of the invention includes a locking mechanism or interlocking to ensure the clamping by pressure of one or more pieces 5 located between both jaws 3 and 4. This mechanism of locking or interlocking is determined from a connecting rod 6 that is coupled articulately by an end point 7 on a plunger 8 which is guided in a guide hole 9 of the fixed arm 1. In contrast, the other end of the rod 6 is coupled articulately on an intermediate point 10 of the mobile arm 2, also linking both arms 1 and 2 articulatedly at an end point 11. On the other hand, the mobile arm 2 is linked to a cylinder 12 solidary of the plunger 8 and in which the movable jaw 4 is screwed. The movable arm 2 further includes a cam-like bar 13 which is articulated at an upper point 14 of said mobile arm 2, said cam 13 being designed to facilitate unlocking or unlocking the movable arm 2 and in general the assembly of the tool of the invention. The fixed jaw 3, although it forms an integral part of the fixed arm 1 as an elongated extension, said fixed jaw 3 could be determined by an independent element in the manner of a fastener fixed to said fixed arm 1. The two jaws 3 and 4 are facing each other, in such a way that to place the tool in an active blocking position, it will be necessary to tilt the mobile arm 2 until it abuts against the fixed arm 1, in such a way that in this process, the plunger 8 driven in the guide hole 9 of the fixed arm 1, the movable jaw 4 approaching the fixed jaw 3, between which there are the pieces to be fixed 5 (figure 1). In this locking position, the two points of articulation 7 and 10 of the connecting rod 6 and also the articulation point 11 linking both arms 1 and 2 are advantageously aligned in the same direction. On the other hand, in order to proceed to the unlocking of the tool assembly, the lower end section of the cam 13 will be actuated, in such a way that the opposite section thereof will press on the fixed arm 1, whereupon it will be instantaneously produced. Unlocking the tool where it participates and also helps a spring 15 established inside the guide hole 9 of the fixed arm 1. - This spring 15 abuts at one end against the piston 8 of the fixed arm 1 pushing it downwards, while the end The upper opposite of said spring 15 abuts against a seat 16 of the fixed arm 1 established in correspondence with the upper part of the aforesaid guide hole 9. In the tool locking position, the spring or spring 15 is compressed, so that in the unlocking operation, that spring will help in this operation. The distance between the two jaws 3 and 4 can be adjusted advantageously, according to the needs, thanks to the movable jaw 4 having a screw-like structure that threads into the cylinder 12 that acts as a nut, although it could also be made from reverse way. This mobile threaded clamp 4 performs the same task of the conventional adjustment screw of this type of pressure tools.
