Description

DISPOSABLE ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH TRANSVERSE RETENTION CAPSULE Background of the Invention A feminine towel is a hygienic article used by women during menstruation to contain and retain menstrual flows and protect their underwear. There is a large variety of feminine pads on the market: thick, thin, for the day, for the night, for regular flow, for abundant flow, with wings, without wings, with distribution channels, etc., in such a way that I could think that all the problems and types of protection are solved. Technological advances have focused on improving this type of articles mainly in two areas: in terms of comfort for the user, and in terms of safety for the towel itself. Advances related to the safety of the user refer to the way in which menstrual flows are kept away from her clothes. In this way, the advances refer to the absorbency, distribution and retention of the absorbent matrix on the one hand, and on the other to the way of protecting the intimate garment, such as some types of lateral protection for it. In this order of ideas, there is a great variety of patents referring to feminine towels with lateral projections (wings) that are folded over the intimate garment, protecting it laterally; some of these are: Mexican patents Nos. 160,903, 160,904, 183,523 and 183,257, all assigned to Procter & Gamble; Mexican Patent No. 174,439, assigned to Molnlycke AB; Mexican Patent No. 171,646, by Johnson & Johnson, as well as Mexican patent application No. 96 252 of Mabe International Products. On the other hand, there are several patents that refer to the use of lateral anti-drip barriers in feminine pads, such as U.S. Patent Nos. 5,649,917 and 5,820,618, assigned to Procter & Gamble, as well as No. 5,618,283, assigned to Uni-Charm Corp. and No. 5,876,390 of SCA Hygiene Products. On the other hand, some patents have been published regarding disposable absorbent articles, specifically disposable diapers or trainers, which have anti-runoff barriers placed in the waist regions thereof, such as US Pat. Nos. 5,019,066, 5,026,364, 5,558,661, all assigned to Procter & Gamble, as well as Patent No. 5,827,259, assigned to Kimberly-Clark. All these patents disclose the use of different types of barriers placed in the waist regions of the product. None of these refers to the use of barriers by the front and back of a disposable absorbent article, such as a feminine towel or a protector for incontinent adults. U.S. Patent No. 5,486,168, assigned to Molnlycke, describes a product for male incontinence, which has elastics in the lateral parts, and these elastics cause the front and back parts of the article to rise, creating a spice of barriers by these parts. The article that is intended to be protected by the present invention does not simply have a barrier by the front and / or rear parts thereof, but has a retaining capsule placed transversely by one or both of these front and / or rear parts of the article that It works to effectively stop the flow that can reach these parts of the article. It is important to achieve this type of protection in articles of this nature, since when the person who is using the feminine towel or the protector for incontinent adults is standing or sitting, the flow will fall by gravity directly on the article and will be absorbed by the same; however, when the user is resting, ie in a horizontal position, the same body forms a channel so that the flow tends to migrate upwards or downwards, depending on the user's position, and when no obstacle is found, can go beyond the limits of the article by the transverse edges (front and rear) of this and stain the clothes. That is why the use of at least one transverse retainer capsule positioned at the top and / or bottom of the article is protected by the present invention. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to achieve protection by the front and back parts in a disposable absorbent article, such as a feminine towel or an incontinence protector, by creating a retaining capsule in one or both parts of the body. same. A further objective of the present invention is that these cross-retaining capsules are comfortable and safe for the user. Another objective of the present invention is to achieve full and integral protection for the user by placing cross-retaining capsules in an article having some type of lateral protection, such as barriers or lateral extensions. (wings) A further object of the present invention is that the transverse retention capsules are feasible to be placed during the manufacturing process of a feminine towel. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Figure 1 shows a feminine towel, including the transverse retention capsules of the present invention. In Figure 2 a female wingless towel and with the retaining capsules of the present invention is illustrated. Figure 3 is a section along line A-A 'of Figures 1 and 2. An alternative for the present invention is shown in Figure 4.
Figure 5 is a section along line B-B 'of Figures 1 and 2, when the towel is tensioned during the manufacturing process. Figure 6 is also a section along the line B-B 'of Figures 1 and 2, once the stresses that tension the towel are eliminated. Detailed Description of the Invention The present description will be made based on a disposable female towel, although the invention can also be applied to a disposable incontinence article. A feminine towel is a disposable hygienic article used by women during menstruation, whose purpose is to absorb and contain menstrual flows, thus protecting the wearer's clothes. Currently there is a wide variety of articles of this type on the market, all of them focused on providing good protection to the user. This has been partially achieved, since when the user is standing or sitting, the menstrual flows will fall directly on the upper layer of the towel and may be absorbed, distributed and retained by the absorbent matrix. In the event that the towel, due to the anatomy of the user, narrows in its central part during use and the flow tends to leave the side of it, there are towels with wings or side barriers that solve this problem. However, when the wearer is resting in a horizontal position, the flow tends to flow towards the upper or lower part of the towel without encountering any barrier that stops it; that is why it is proposed by the present invention to place on the front and / or back of a disposable absorbent article, such as a feminine towel or a incontinence protector, transverse retention capsules, which must be at least hydrophobic and preferably waterproof. Referring now to the drawings, in Figure 1 a feminine towel with all its components is illustrated: a permeable upper layer (10), a waterproof lower layer (12), an absorbent matrix (14) placed between both upper and lower layers, lateral extensions (wings) (16) and the transverse retaining capsules (15) of the present invention. The towel also has a contact adhesive (17) covered with silicone paper (18) by the lower part of each of the wings and by the lower part of the body of the towel, which serves to hold the towel in the inner garment of the towel. the user so that it does not move during use. The upper (10) and lower (12) layers of the article are longer and wider than the absorbent matrix (14); the part protruding in the same way the periphery of the towel (26); in this periphery, generally the upper and lower layers are joined, either by means of adhesive or by any other known means. The towel has been divided into three sections for explanatory purposes: the section (20), which is the front part thereof, the section (22), which is the rear part, and the section (24), which constitutes the part central of the towel. Figure 2 shows a female towel without lateral extensions (16) or wings, which also includes the transverse retention capsules (15) of the invention. The aforementioned components of a sanitary napkin, except the retention capsules, are conventional and well known to those skilled in the art and, therefore, will not be described in detail in the present description. As can be seen in figures 1 and 2, the transverse retention capsules (15) are positioned by the front (20) and back (22) portions of the towel and are formed, in a preferred embodiment, by placing an elastic film on the upper permeable layer (10) in these parts front and back of the article. Figure 3 is a section along line AA 'of Figures 1 and 2, where a preferred alternative of the invention is shown, in which a film of at least hydrophobic material, and preferably impermeable, having a certain transverse elasticity, is partially stretched and sealed to the upper layer at the periphery (26) of the towel by the front (20) and / or rear (22) thereof, while keeping the towel tensioned during the process; this elastic film will be on the upper layer of the article, as can be seen in figure 5, which represents a cut along the line BB 'of figures 1 and 2, before the forces that maintain the This stretched elastic film. Once these forces are released, it will return to its original length, rising from the upper layer and forming the retaining capsule (15) of the present invention, as shown in Figure 6. This retaining capsule (15) has two edges, a fixed edge (30), which is the one that is joined to the upper layer of the towel by the front and / or rear parts of the periphery thereof, and a remote edge (32), which is raised or away from the surface of the towel, forming the retaining capsule that will truly stop the flow of menstrual flow through the front and / or back of the towel. The length of the retaining capsule (15), taken from the tip of the towel (19) to the far edge (32), may vary between about 10 to 45% of the total length of the article, although it is preferably of around 25% of the total length of it. The material used for the film that forms the barrier should be soft and not irritate the user's skin; preferably a fabric-type film is used, although it can be any hydrophobic material, and preferably impermeable, having a minimum transverse elasticity of about 5%. During the process, this film is preferably transversely stretched, about 20%, before being joined to the periphery of the upper layer of the article by the front and / or rear portions thereof. This connection can be by means of adhesive, by heat, by ultrasound or by any other suitable means, known to those skilled in the art. Preferably, the film forming the capsule is stretched transversely from about 5 to 40% before being attached to the periphery of the upper layer of the towel. Another important characteristic of the film that is going to be used to form the transverse retention capsule is the retraction percentage thereof, this must be at least about 70%, although preferably a film with a retraction percentage will be used. 100% Suitable films for this purpose can be any type of latex or elastane, or similar materials. Figure 4 illustrates another alternative of the present invention, in which the transverse retainer capsule (15) are formed of a non-elastic film, to cause the barrier to rise up its remote edge (32) and form the capsule retention; one or more elastic threads or bands (28) attached to this remote edge or any other means elastifying this far edge (32) are added so that it separates from the upper layer, forming the barrier (s) of the present invention . In this case, the material used to create the capsule can be any type of non-elastic film with hydrophobicity characteristics, and preferably waterproof, that is soft enough to be in contact with the skin without causing any discomfort. While the invention has been described in terms of its preferred embodiments, the scope thereof includes any type of change or modification thereto that may be apparent to a person skilled in the art.
