Abstract

The present invention refers to ameliorations for placement systems of modular coatings and methods for the installment and extraction of the same. The modular coatings are:acoustic insulating, thermal, non-slip, decorative materials, particularly floors, especially wooden floors and similar. The placement system comprises a module constituted by one or various underneath base layers, and a coating upper layer, integrally joined;anchoring means to the floor and fastening means to the anchoring means and junction means between adjacent modules. Optionally, there are provided protective means for the floor anchoring means while the modules are repaired or some maintenance is given to them. The methods for the installment of the modular coatings comprise the following stages:a) modules assembly in the plant;b) placement of anchoring means to the floor;c) applying of modules to the anchoring means;d) insertion of fastening means to the anchoring means and;e) placement of junction means with adjacent modules. The extraction method of modular coatings comprises the following stages:a) extraction of junction means;b) liberation of fastening means with a tool for adjustment and liberation of the anchoring means;c) extraction of modules from the anchoring means;d) optional extraction of anchoring meansto the floor;e) maintenance and/or replacement of coating modules and the repetition of the steps starting from (b) stage of the installment method.

Description

IMPROVEMENTS TO MODULAR COATING PLACEMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THE INSTALLATION AND EXTRACTION OF THE SAME Cross-references to related applications Floor finishes and coatings are already known, in particular wood-based coatings that are of increasing popularity, some of which are illustrated by the following patents: US Pat. No. 5,497,590 issued March 2, 1996, inventor James Counihan, entitled "Resilient Flooring", refers to a resilient floor finishing system for gyms and similar areas. The patent of the U.S.A. No. 5,01 6,41 3 granted on May 21, 1 991, inventor James Counihan, entitled "Resilient Floor System" refers to a resilient floor system for aerobic and similar exercises. The patent of the U.S.A. No. 4,703,601 filed on April 25, 1 986 inventor Cari W. Abendroth entitled "Fastener for flooring systems" refers to means that interact between a fastener and floorboards for positive coupling between them . From the cited references it is noted that a problem that persists is that the installation of the floors is slow, generates obstacles in the area, does not allow compensation of unevenness economically; besides, they can not be detached easily, without damaging them to maintain them or replace them, another problem is that when trying to detach them, they frequently obstruct or impede the activities in the area where they are installed. The object of the present invention is to overcome all these problems and more, as will be clear from the following description, the accompanying drawings and appended claims. < . COMPENDIUM OF THE INVENTION This invention provides improvements to modular cladding systems and to methods for installing and removing them. Modular coatings include acoustic, thermal, anti-skid, decorative insulating materials, in particular flooring, and in particular wood floors and the like. The positioning system comprises a module constituted by one or more lower base layers, and an upper covering layer, integrally joined; floor anchoring means, means for securing the anchoring means and means for joining between adjacent modules. Optionally, protective means are provided for the floor anchoring means while maintaining or repairing the modules. The methods for the installation of the modular coatings comprise the following stages: a.- assembly of the modules in the plant; b.-placement of anchoring means to the floor; c- application of modules in the anchoring means; d.- insertion of fastening means to the anchoring means and of connecting means with adjacent modules.
The description of the drawings The details of the present invention, both by structure and by operation can be better understood by reference to the accompanying drawings, in which like reference numerals and designations refer to the same elements. Figure 1 is a top partial perspective view of a portion of the system object of the present invention, before its final positioning position, Figure 2 is a top partial perspective view of a portion of the system object of the present invention that shows in detail with dotted lines the location of the anchoring and securing means, before its final positioning position; Figure 3 is a bottom partial perspective view of a portion of the system object of the present invention, showing the location of the anchoring, clamping and joining means in its final positioning position; Figure 4 is a bottom partial exploded perspective view in a vertical direction of a portion of the system object of the present invention, without the means of anchoring, fastening and joining, showing in detail the slots for the means of anchoring, clamping and splicing; Figure 5 is a perspective view of a tool for adjusting the fastening means of the present invention; Figure 6 is a block diagram illustrating the steps of placing modular coatings of the present invention; and Figure 7 is a block diagram illustrating the steps of extraction of modular coatings, of the present invention.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED MODALITY With the particular reference to the drawings, and especially to Figure 1, the positioning system comprises in a preferred embodiment, a module constituted by three base lower layers (40, 50 and 60), and a layer upper coating (70), integrally joined; anchoring means to the floor (20) in the form of elongated strips attached to the floor (30) by screws or nails; fastening means to the anchoring means (10) in the form of complementary elongated strips. The floor anchoring means (20) are provided as illustrated in Figure 3 with vertical projections (1 5), distributed along the strips that engage with complementary slots in the base (40), the fastening means ( 10) provided with releasable stops (1 7) Figure 3 that allow the installer to ensure the correct final position, following the path AA Figure 1. As illustrated in Figure 4 the first lower layer (40), and the third lower layer (60) have a groove (80) that allows adjusting the vertical projections of the anchoring means (20) Figure 1, 2 and 3; the second layer (50) has a groove (85) for laterally receiving the fastening means (10) Figure 1, 2 and 3 to be coupled with the anchoring means (20) Figure 1, 2 and 3, for once in position they receive the splice means (1 7) Figure 3 to fit into the corresponding slot of the next adjacent module. In Figure 5, a tool for adjusting (90) the fastening means (10) to the interior of the groove (85) is illustrated. < ^^^ As best illustrated in Figure 6, a preferred embodiment of the method for the installation of the modular coatings, comprises the following steps: a.- assembly of the modules in plan [100]; b.- placement of anchoring means (20) to the floor (30) [200]; c- application of modules in the anchoring means (20) [300]; d.- inserting clamping means (10) into the anchoring means (20) and adjusting the clamping means (10) with the adjustment tool (90) [400]; e.- positioning of the splicing means (17) with adjacent modules [500]. Finally, in Figure 7, a method of extracting the modular coatings is illustrated, which comprises the following steps: a.- extraction of splicing means (17) [600]; b.- release of plate (10) with the tool for adjustment (90) of the anchoring means (20) [700]; c- removing modules from the anchoring means (20) [800]; d.- optional extraction of the anchoring means (20) to the floor (30) [900]; e.- maintenance and / or replacement of coating modules [1000]; and A.- the steps are repeated from step [200] of Figure 6. Although a specific embodiment of the present invention has been described, it will be understood by those skilled in the art that there are other modalities that are equivalent to the described modality. Accordingly, it will be understood that the invention is not limited by the specific illustrated embodiment, but only by the scope of the appended claims.
