Abstract
Esta invencion provee un metodo novedoso para recuperar sales alcalinas de derivados mixtos solidos industriales que contienen abastecimientos de sales alcalinas y materiales carbonosos libres. En una instancia, el derivado industrial puede ser un mixto solido que comprende: carbonato de sodio, fases hidratadas de carbonato de sodio, particulas de carbon libre, agua y cantidades minoritarias de materiales insolubles como impurezas. Una fuente externa de calor se aplica inicialmente al derivado mixto para elevar la temperatura de las particulas de carbon libre al punto de su ignicion en cuan momento un abastecimiento de oxigeno, introducido dentro el derivado mixto, reacciona con las particulas de carbon calentadas y se combina exotericamente para formar gas dioxido de carbon y libera autogenosamente energia termica. La energia termica liberada autogenosamente de la reaccion combustiva del carbon con oxigeno proporciona una fuente de calor auto termica para desasociar las fases hidratadas de carbonato de sodio en carbonato de sodio y agua, la evaporacion del agua libre y la volatilizacion de algunos de los materiales insolubles. El agua vaporizada y los materiales volatizados, junto con el gas dioxido de carbon, son removidos, para lograr la recuperacion del carbonato de sodio. En cuanto un nuevo abastecimiento del derivado mixto se pone en contracto con un nuevo abastecimiento de oxigeno, la reaccion combustiva, entre el oxigeno y las particulas de carbon, se mantendra sostenida, liberando aun mas energia auto termica, y de tal manera se continua la recuperacion del carbonato de sodio de las fases hidratadas de carbonato de sodio descompuestas en carbonato de sodio y en agua vaporada, en la vaporizacion del agua libre, en el gas de dioxido de carbon, producto de la reaccion combustiva, y en los gases volatiles liberados en la descomposicion de materiales insolubles.
