La presente invencion se refiere a los pigmentos de vanadato de bismuto de la formula (Bi4V2O11)1-x??(BiVo4)x en donde 0 menor igual x menor igual 0.9, además contienen de 0 a 0.58% por peso del fosforo en la forma de fosfato de bismuto, y se caracterizan por un ángulo dominante de la luz reflejada desde 64 a 91 degree , una saturacion cromática desde 72 a 95 y una luminosidad mayor igual 62 (ángulo de medicion 45 degree , iluminante estándar D65).
