Abstract

Esta invencion describe los métodos para aumentar el flujo de carbono hacia una vía de una célula huésped para aumentar la produccion biosintética de compuestos del mismo, las células huésped se selecciona en base al fenotipo Pts/glucosa. Tales células huésped son capaces de transportar glucosa sin consumir PEP, dando como resultado la conservacion del PEP, el cual puede ser redirigido a la vía para aumentar la produccion de los compuestos deseados a lo largo de la vía. Los mutantes Pts/glucosa han mostrado ser ventajosos para aumentar la produccion de aminoácidos aromáticos.
