The invention describes how in a process to produce flexible polyurethane foams by reacting a) organic polyisocyanates and/or organic polyisocyanates modified with b) relatively high molecular weight compounds containing at least two reactive hydrogen atoms, and c) if desired low molecular weight chain extenders and/or crosslinkers, in presence of d) blowing agents, e) catalysts, f) flame retardants, and if desired g) additional auxiliaries and/or additives; relatively high molecular weight compounds containing at least two reactive hydrogen atoms (b), comprise at least 10 percent by weight of polyether polyols, which can be prepared by lower ethylene oxides catalyzed base reaction with OH-functional starting substances, and are subjected, during or after ethylene oxide molecular addition, to a thermal/distillation treatment combined in a water content of at least 0.1 percent by weight. Flexible PUR foam produced according to the present invention can be used in automobile and furniture fields, and to produce flexible foam/textile compositions.
