Abstract

La presente invencion se refiere a una red de comunicaciones inalámbricas, a un método para localizar y dar seguimiento al estado de una pluralidad de puertos de radio, que comprende las etapas de: determinar una posicion de coordenadas de una de la pluralidad de puertos de radio; y transmitir la posicion de coordenadas a un centro de control. El método además puede comprender la etapa de interconectar de manera removible un receptor GPS con una de la pluralidad de puertos de radio. La transmision de la posicion de coordenadas al centro de control puede utilizar una conexion cableada. Adicionalmente, la posicion de coordenadas puede almacenarse en el centro de control. La posicion de coordenadas se integra en un mapa de la pluralidad de puertos de radio. Un puerto de radio que no responde puede identificarse por una posicion de coordenadas correspondiente y el tráfico de red inalámbrico puede dirigirse de manera apropiada.
