Abstract

Una composicion y un método para erradicar o suprimir una poblacion de moscas del Mediterráneo o moscas orientales de la fruta, los cuales introducen riesgos de seguridad substancialmente mínimos para humanos, la agricultura y organismos vivos que no se dese afectar, incluye: proveer una composicion insecticida que incluya por lo menos un colorante fotoactivo el cual es preferiblemente una mezcla de floxina B y uranina; hacer que la composicion sea ingerida por la poblacion de moscas de la fruta que se desea afectar mediante aspersion o suministrando el insecticida en una localidad en donde las moscas de la fruta se alimentan; y segun los cuales la ingestion del colorante fotoactivo componente de la composicion por una mosca del Mediterráneo o una mosca oriental de la fruta, hace que una cantidad toxica de fotones penetre dentro del cuerpo de la mosca.
