Abstract
Un compuesto de matriz metálica que utiliza carburo de boro como un aditivo para un metal de material base. el metal de material de base es aluminio, magnesio, o titanio, o una aleacion de los mismos, proporcionado en forma de polvo con el resto del material comprendiendo varios metales de traza tales como cromo, cobre, fierro, magnesio, silicio, titanio y zinc. El polvo de carburo de boro comprende 10 a 30% en peos de la composicion de matriz metálica. Hay por lo menos otro aditivo metálico. Las composiciones son utiles en una variedad de aplicaciones donde son deseables el peso ligero, la resistencia, la rigidez, la dureza y la baja densidad. Las composiciones son extruibles y soldeables.
