Abstract

La invencion se relaciona con un polisacárido cationico, de preferencia en forma fibrosa, que tiene características superabsorbentes, estando sustituido el polisacárido por grupos de amonio cuaternario y teniendo un ds de cuando menos 0.5, de preferencia de 0.5 a 2.5, siendo el polisacárido reticulado a un grado suficiente que permanece insoluble en agua. El polisacárido de preferencia es celulosa. Un numero incrementado de grupos funcionales en el producto mejora las propiedades absorbentes, puesto que el uso de un agente de reticulacion hace posible controlar la resistencia de gel del producto, y lo hace más fácil de adaptarse a las características del producto, para aquellos que son requeridas.
