Abstract

La presente invencion se refiere a plantas genéticamente modificadas para incrementar el nivel de carbohidratos almacenados en las misma, particularmente en periodos de alta actividad de presion y baja actividad de brote, a través de la produccion de una glucositransferasa que cataliza la formacion de glucanos solubles. La presente invencion también se refiere a las construcciones genéticas utilizadas para producir las plantas manipuladas por ingeniería genética y al método para producir las plantas manipuladas por ingeniería genética.
