Abstract

Se describe un procedimiento para preparar agentes pegadores para aislamiento de fibra de vidrio. La solucion de agente pegador es preparada añadiendo un fosfato condensado a una solucion acuosa de ortofosfato de aluminio, para proveer una solucion homogénea que tiene una proporcion molar A1:p de menos de 1, de preferencia 1:3, y en donde la cantidad de fosfato condensado comprende aproximadamente 25 a 75% del fosfato total en la solucion. Se aplica de artículos aislantes y luego se calienta para convertir el agente pegador a un polímero de fosfato de aluminio condensado, amorfo, insoluble en agua, no higroscopico. El agente pegador pega elásticamente las fibras de vidrio entre sí a fin de proveer la obtencion de la forma después de la deformacion de las fibras, por ejemplo, por compresion.
