Abstract

The present invention discloses an improved cathode structure for a cathode-ray tube including a first metallic tube for receiving an emitting part and a heating means, a second metallic tube which constitutes the cathode protection, and means for retaining the first tube in place inside the second one of the tubes, the retaining means comprising an individual metallic piece. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the metallic retaining piece includes an annular space having branches which extend in the direction of the axis of said annular space.
