Abstract

The invention provides a novel door structure for each end of a wagon in an articulated train. The train includes a plurality of wagons, which are coupled together and spaced apart from each other a small distance. The door structure can be easily opened and closed, even when the wagons are only spaced apart from each other a small distance. A first embodiment of the door structure includes first and second door members, each having first and second panels articulately connected with each other, which are attached to each end of each one of the wagons. The first panel of each of the door members is foldable relative to the second panel, and the panels are movable so as to be placed adjacent a wagon side wall. The structure is provided for connecting the door members to the sides of a wagon, and for allowing the panels to rotate relative to the side of said wagon. A second embodiment of the novel structure includes first and second door members, in which the first door member is placed on an upper portion of a wagon end, said door being movable to a lower portion of said wagon end so as to open the upper portion of the wagon end, and the second door member is placed on a lower portion of a wagon end, said second door being movable to an upper portion of the wagon end so as to open the lower portion of the wagon end.
