Abstract
A method for inspecting a sound emitter comprising the steps of: producing sound by applying a vibratory force of a certain basic frequency to the sound emitter and spectrum analyzing the sound pressure level of the produced sound; determining an actual basic frequency which is given as a frequency providing a maximum sound pressure level within a range comprising the basic frequency and its vicinity; determining a maximum sound pressure frequency which is given as a frequency providing a maximum sound pressure level; detecting the sound pressure level at a multiple of the actual basic frequency, wherein the sound emitter is determined to be acceptable in case the sound pressure level at the multiple of the actual basic frequency is equal to or greater than a first threshold value, the sound pressure level at frequency which is offset from the multiple of the actual basic frequency by a fraction of the actual basic frequency is equal to or less than a threshold value associated with said fraction of the actual basic frequency, and the maximum sound pressure frequency is substantially a multiple of the actual basic frequency and has a degree of sharpness equal to or greater than preset value.
